2020 Annual Report • Police Department • St. Anthony Village, Minnesota <br /> <br /> <br />36 | Page <br /> <br />XV. 2020 Accomplishments <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />• Completed external independent biennial audit of our BWC data as set forth in MN <br />State Statute 13.825, November 2020. Results pending. <br />• Worked with the Ramsey County Attorney’s Office and LE Partners on creating, and <br />implementing officer training based on protocols for investigating sexual assault <br />cases as set forth by the MN POST Board. Training created. Training to begin 2021. <br />• Continued training and employee development related to the department <br />policy/procedure manual. Issue daily training bulletins that will expand officer <br />knowledge and awareness pertaining to policy, applicable State/Federal and changes <br />as a result of case law rulings. <br />• Continued to send personnel through a MN POST Board approved 40 hour Crisis <br />Intervention Team Training (CIT) program. Long term goal to have all officers <br />complete the 40 hour certified training. <br />• Continued to review and explore training that emphasizes officer skill development <br />in areas associated to mental health concerns, de-escalation strategies and <br />community relations. *Completed in house training utilizing CIT curriculum and <br />I.C.A.T. <br />• Continued to review and implement department training utilizing Integrating <br />Communications, Assessment and Tactics (I.C.A.T.) into officer development and <br />training. Focus on training platforms related to Use of Force, Emergency Medical <br />Responder (EMR), Firearms and responding to persons in crisis. <br />• Added Officer Wellness component to the department strategic plan goals and <br />objectives. All department personnel individually met with a mental health <br />professional and received educational resources. Connections developed for future <br />meetings should the resource ever be needed. <br />• Continued professional development of first line supervisors, as well as Office <br />Manager, Lieutenant, Captain & Chief. <br />• All officers completed League of MN Cities, MN POST Board approved, 2020 "Patrol <br />Online" training for officers. <br />• Continue to review, implement and potentially expand community engagement <br />initiatives. Looked to social media and digital outlets to engage community due to <br />restrictions placed due to social distancing. <br />• Continued to focus on data driven strategies that focus on identified technical <br />assistance priorities contained within the department strategic plan. <br />• Evaluate methods for implementing online reporting for selected offenses. Worked <br />with IT services to identify software that could aid in implementation. <br />
