Code Enforcement <br />The code enforcement process for 2020 produced 337 complaints or observed violations that <br />were documented by our inspector. Violations are either called in by a resident or visually taken <br />note of by the inspector during his survey of the city. Our approach to code enforcement has <br />always been one of being proactive and trying to stay on top of issues or concerns however <br />relying on residents to also contact us if they believe a violation to be taking place. <br />Upon receiving or taking note of violations, we find that it works best to work with the property <br />owner and find out why the violation exists and try to remedy or repair it in an expedient and <br />fair manner. <br />Vegetation was our most common violation which has remained <br />consistent for several years. <br />In the rental inspections area, we had 172 documented <br />inspections/re-inspections of our various rental properties <br />around the city.
