MEMORANDUM <br />To: St. Anthony Village City Council <br />From: Nicole Miller, Administrative Services Coordinator <br />Date: May 25, 2021 City Council Meeting <br />Request: Request to hold Juneteenth Celebration at upper parking lot at Central Park June 19th, 2021 <br />BACKGROUND <br />Kelly Ibekwe has requested the use of the Upper parking lot at Central Park for a Juneteenth Celebration June <br />19th, 2021 10 AM to 10 PM The event will be a showcase of artists and entrepreneurs to celebrate Juneteenth - a <br />holiday celebrating the emancipation of those who had been enslaved in the United States. <br />A.Date: June 19th <br />B.Location: Upper parking lot at Central Park for event, parking at Community Center <br />C. Time <br />a.Setup: 10:00 am <br />b.Cleanup: 10:00 pm <br />D.Activities <br />a.Food Vendors <br />b.Business Booths displaying and selling products <br />c.Performers on stage (singers, poets, dancers) <br />The original request covered the Central Park Pavilion and staff contacted the school district, and the pavilion is <br />already reserved for that day, so staff recommended the use of the upper parking lot at Central Park for the <br />Juneteenth event. Staff has informed applicant that the parking lot entrance needs to be clear and accessible for <br />the people to access the parking area by the pavilion. See location map below. <br />Being that the request involves City property, amplified music and expects to exceed 100 attendees; a Special <br />Event Permit is required. <br />Location Map <br />37
