City of St. Anthony <br />CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br /> <br />Minutes <br />June 8, 2021 <br />Present: <br />Mayor & Council <br />Randy Stille, Mayor; Bernard Walker, Councilmember; Thomas Randle, Councilmember; Wendy <br />Webster, Councilmember and Jan Jenson, Councilmember. <br />Absent: <br />None <br />Staff: <br />Charlie Yunker, City Manager, Shelly Rueckert, Finance Director <br />Consultants: <br />Justin Messner, City Engineer <br />Call to Order: <br />Mayor Stille called the Work Session to order at 5:30 p.m. <br />Levy Scenarios: <br />Ms. Rueckert presented preliminary levy scenarios based on information and estimates known to date. <br />Staff and Council discussed the primary drivers of cost increases in employee-related items, and revenue <br />impacts, as well as capital levy impacts. Preliminary range of levy increase is expected to be in the 3.8% - <br />4.4% range. Staff will continue to refine the numbers and communicate with Council. <br />Water Tower Maintenance: <br />Mr. Messner presented the results of the recent inspection of the water tower. Inspections are <br />performed at regular intervals, and it has come time for more significant work that will entail lowering <br />the water level in the tower, making repairs both inside and outside and recoating the inside and <br />outside. This tends to be needed every 20 years, and we are due for this maintenance. Cost is projected <br />to be $750,000, and is eligible to be funded through the American Rescue Act funds. Council gave staff <br />the authorization to prepare bid documents. <br />Future Work Session Dates: <br />Next Work Session will be held on July 13, 2021 at 5:30 p.m. <br />Adjournment: <br />The meeting adjourned at 6:17 p.m. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted by Charlie Yunker, City Manager.
