City of St. Anthony <br />CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />Minutes <br />November 9, 2021 <br />Present: <br />Mayor & Council <br />Randy Stille, Mayor, Thomas Randle, Councilmember, Wendy Webster, Councilmember and Jan Jenson, <br />Councilmember, Bernard Walker, Councilmember <br />Staff: <br />Charlie Yunker, City Manager <br />Absent: <br />None <br />Call to Order: <br />Mayor Stille called the Work Session to order at 5:45 p.m. <br />National Opioids Settlement Participation: <br />Charlie Yunker briefly discussed the guidance received in order for St. Anthony to participate in the <br />National Opioids Settlement. The City will most likely not receive any direct payment from the <br />settlement, but participation will help bring more fund to Minnesota. The deadline to opt-in to <br />participate is January 2, 2022. <br />Council directed staff to submit the necessary information to participate. <br />Core Competencies for Effective Elected Leaders: <br />Councilmember review the Core Competencies for Effective Elected Leaders materials in packet, and <br />discussed the benefit to the Council of identifying shared values and norms for working together more <br />effectively. The Council also discussed how the exercise would be an enhancement to the onboarding <br />process for new Councilmembers in the future. <br />Council affirmed to work through the exercise at work sessions in 2022. Staff will propose a schedule <br />and will work with Councilmember Webster to draft materials for those work sessions. <br />Future Work Sessions: <br />Council will hold the upcoming work sessions in November: <br />November 15th, at 6:00pm in the Council Chambers for Commission interviews <br />November 16th, at 7:00pm in the Council Chambers with the Planning Commission for <br />preliminary concept review <br />November 23rd, at 6:00pm in the Council Chambers for Commission interviews <br />Adjournment: <br />The meeting adjourned at 6:54 p.m. <br />Respectfully submitted by Charlie Yunker, City Manager.
