Phase II Environmental Site Assessment
2534 Kenzie Terrace
WSB Project No. R-020198-000 Page 10
5. Recommendations
Based on the results of this Phase II ESA, WSB provides the following recommendations:
Report the discovery of the release at the Site to the Minnesota Duty Officer. The MPCA will
review the investigation data and determine if further environmental investigation (e.g.,
completion of additional borings and sampling) is warranted. Costs incurred related to the
investigation and cleanup of a leak resulting for a tank system are eligible for reimbursement
through the Minnesota Petrofund Program.
Enroll the Site into the MPCA’s Brownfields Program for eligible technical assistance and/or
contamination liability assurances related to the petroleum and non-petroleum impacts detected
at the Site. The MPCA can review and approve future environmental investigation work plans,
assist with obtaining desired contamination liability assurances (such as a No Association
Determination (NAD) Letter) for the non-petroleum related compounds discovered at the Site.
The MPCA charges $150 per hour to provide technical assistance and liability assurances.
