ANTHONY <br />2 CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br />3 SEPTEMBER 27, 2022 <br />4 <br />5 CALL TO ORDER. <br />6 <br />7 Mayor Stille called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br />8 <br />9 PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE. <br />10 <br />11 Mayor Stille invited the Council and audience to join him in the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />12 <br />13 ROLL CALL. <br />14 <br />15 Present: Mayor Stille, Councilmembers Jenson, Randle, Walker and Webster. <br />16 <br />17 Absent:None. <br />18 <br />19 Also Present:City Manager Charlie Yunker, Fire Chief Mark Sitarz, Fire Captain Mattie Jaros and <br />20 Public Works Director Jeremy Gumke. <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 CONSIDERATION, DISCUSSION, AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON ALL OF THE FOLLOWING <br />24 ITEMS. <br />25 <br />26 I.APPROVAL OF SEPTEMBER 27, 2022 CITY COUNCIL MEETING AGENDA. <br />27 <br />28 Motion by Councilmember Randle, seconded by Councilmember Jenson, to approve the City <br />29 Council Meeting Agenda of September 27, 2022 as presented. <br />30 <br />31 Motion carried 5-0. <br />32 <br />33 II.PROCLAMATIONS AND RECOGNITION. <br />34 <br />35 Fire Chief Mark Sitarz reviewed a PowerPoint for the Annual Fire Prevention Presentation. The <br />36 presentation was put together by Captain Mattie Jaros. The National Fire Protection Association <br />37 was acknowledged and have had 100 years of fire protection. Fire Prevention Month began in <br />38 1972. This year’s theme is “Fire Won’t Wait. Plan Your Escape”. Chief Sitarz reviewed Home <br />39 Escape Planning. Every member of the family should have two ways out of the home and a <br />40 place to meet with the rest of the family outside. It was suggested to Close Before You Doze <br />41 which means to close bedroom doors while sleeping. The Fire Department Open House will be <br />42 held Saturday, October 1, 2022 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the Fire Station. Attendees will get the <br />43 opportunity to tour the truck, spray the fire hose and learn various safety messages. Lunch will <br />44 be provided and children will receive an activity bag. This is a free event. <br />45 <br />46 Councilmember Walker stated the presentation was terrifying but very informative about the two <br />47 minutes to get out of the house relative to carbon monoxide. He asked if residents needed to do <br />48 anything prior to the Open House and Chief Sitarz stated they just need to show up.
