4 <br /> <br /> Sanitary sewer and water: Sanitary sewer and water service are provided <br />throughout the City. Storm sewers, ditches, curbs and guƩers provide drainage <br />for the City. Details regarding the public uƟliƟes, surface waters, and water <br />quality data can be found in the Comprehensive Plan’s including the chapters on <br />the Sanitary Sewer Plan and Water Supply Plan. <br /> GreenStep CiƟes: The City is a part of the GreenSteps CiƟes program, achieving <br />Step 5 in 2022. GreenSteps water best pracƟces include areas such as <br />stormwater management, surface water, and efficient water, and wastewater <br />systems. This includes metrics on water usage throughout the City year over <br />year. <br /> Comprehensive Planning: SAV has ambiƟous goals in a number of current plans <br />related to water: <br /> In comprehensive planning: <br />o Stakeholder feedback related to water included: <br /> Decrease water use <br /> Improve stormwater management and water <br />reclamaƟon <br /> Cleaner water (Silver Lake) <br /> Promote rain gardens, naƟve planƟngs <br />o Goals related to water include: <br /> Promote and reward the development of sustainable <br />landscapes. <br /> Improve water quality and minimize flooding. <br />o Policies and AcƟons include: <br /> 3. Reduce chemical use citywide by engaging with public <br />works, the school district, and property owners in a <br />conversaƟon about best pracƟces. <br /> 4. Adopt and report on measurable, publicly announced <br />surface water improvement targets for water bodies. <br /> 5. ConƟnue to implement effecƟve and innovaƟve <br />stormwater management pracƟces and rain gardens <br />and incenƟvize private rain gardens and stormwater <br />Best Management PracƟces (BMPs). <br /> 10. Collaborate with the Parks Commission to create <br />park/city land management standards/pracƟces that <br />maximize naƟve landscaping and low‐maintenance <br />management. Encourage and incenƟvize private <br />property owners to do the same. <br /> 12. Conserve drinking/groundwater resources by <br />strengthening a watering ordinance, water‐wise <br />landscaping ordinance/guidance, and/or guidance on <br />rainwater harvesƟng. Expand educaƟon in this area. <br /> In 2017, the City of St. Anthony’s Comprehensive Water Supply Plan <br />describes the City’s exisƟng water distribuƟon system and water
