Ms. Baguss <br />7 also reviewed the Silverwood Poetry Audio Tour and the new works coming to the outdoor <br />8 sculptures. New art and nature programs are added to the calendar each month for youth, <br />9 families and adults. www.threeriversparks.org/programs. There will be <br />19 a facility rental open house on July 3rd from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. The Silverwood Park Café is <br />20 open and offers a 50% student discount weekdays from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. <br />21 <br />22 Commissioner Doolan asked about the float-in movie and how the mosquitos are. Ms. Baguss <br />23 stated sometimes they are not bad because of the wind. She recommends people bring bug <br />24 spray. Commissioner Doolan asked about the puppet show and art-making and whether they <br />25 are done both days. Ms. Baguss stated it is done on both days. Commissioner Doolan asked <br />26 about the plant swap and Ms. Baguss responded it is held in November. <br />27 <br />B.28 Citizens for Sustainability Updates <br />29 <br />30 Mr. Dan Kunitz, Citizens for Sustainability provided a power point for the Parks & <br />31 Environmental Commission Update. The agenda included Earth Week Cleanup, <br />32 Environmental Stewardship Scholarship, and Collaborations. <br />33 <br />34 There were 23 volunteers for the Earth Week Cleanup at Salo Park; 6 volunteers for Central <br />35 Park; 2 volunteers for Water Tower Park; 6 volunteers for Silver Point Park; 3 volunteers for <br />36 Emerald Park; 11 volunteers for Trillium Park; and 12 volunteers for Mirror Lake Park. <br />37 <br />38 In recognition of their commitment to environmental and to honor their energy and passion to <br />39 make a difference $500 Environmental Stewardship Scholarships have been awarded to <br />40 Audrey MacPherson and Ashlee Millette. <br />41 <br />42 Mr. Kunitz reviewed June outreach about Climate Plan Survey and plans for a Fall <br />43 Sustainability Fair. They are looking at September 23 as a possible date. Topics would be to <br />44 reduce home energy consumption and information on the Climate Action Plan. <br />45
