I do not believe spending time, money, and other resources on this topic is particularly helpful <br />or will reap the benefits currently claimed by many. I do not pay taxes to the city of St Anthony so <br />they can get caught up in the current "religion" of climate activism. <br />Add electric vehicle charging stations at city parks and schools, get curbside organics pickup added <br />to the contract , start integrating more commercial uses into residential areas to make every day life <br />more walkable and improving the pedestrian experience, especially along and across Silver Lake <br />Road, Kenzie Terrace, and 37th, and add more trees particularly along boulevards (improves the air, <br />provides shade, and improves pedestrian environment and driver behavior) <br />sustainable plantings: lawns. Neighbors have in ground sprinkling systems that water street <br />pavement , others spray chemicals and water for hours at a time. Also Important to me: any road/ <br />utility improvements need follow through with damage and changes that have been incurred on <br />homeowners property despite changes in city personnel or contracted partners. Encourage those <br />folks and families who can ambulate to city offices, recycling, school to actually enjoy the walk. And <br />not sit idling and blocking roadways. <br />Local renewable energy <br />figure out how city can get most of its energy needs from renewable and help residents making that <br />switch for things like solar <br />As you replace machines and vehicles, look for things that are energy efficient . Publicize best <br />pratices for thermostat settings. <br />Making sure we have reliable energy supply <br />To educate the public that climate change is not a problem of significance. <br />Ensure activists do not have undue influence. <br />Clean energy initiatives, water conservation, recycling including reducing waste and single -use <br />plastics community, use of pervious surfaces and environmentally friendly building materials in any <br />new construction; encourage people to bike and walk more (may include more bike -friendly streets) <br />Stop building housing that is not sustainable. Stop building on land that can be transformed into <br />sustainable landscaping to help protect nature and wild life on all levels. Most important stop using <br />chemicals for apt buildings lawns, parks, and businesses. Band use for home lawns. Create and <br />encourage neighborhoods to create their lawns into natural habitat and landscaping w Native plants <br />and trees that adapt to less water use. <br />Maintain currant level of hauling away garbage, recycling and yard waste. No electric vehicle <br />charging stations. <br />Add more parking for new developments to reduce traffic and parking problems (idling cars) in <br />nearby neighborhoods. <br />Please tackle other more important issues like public safety, and enforcing city code so that <br />neighbors can get along and be safe. We want to be a thriving community, and there are more <br />practical ways city government can help it members rather than pretending they can solve some big <br />climate problem...but I guess it 's trendy and makes you feel good about yourself, huh? <br />none <br />Whatever helps reduce greenhouse gases the most and prepares us best for damage we’ve already <br />done. Don’t want feel good, but low impact steps <br />Programs to encourage shade tree planting across the city; zero waste events at schools, <br />community center, Villagefest , etc; more EV charging stations (in parks, community center, local <br />businesses) <br />Reduce use of toxic chemicals, pesticides, herbicides ,etc Affordable housing <br />Air quality considering it’s allowed massive apartment units to be built which will bring a huge rise in <br />cars in our small community. <br />Build affordable, energy efficient , space efficient housing
