In 2023 to date, 147 calls for <br />service classified as mental health. 4 agreed to referrals <br />to access NYFS services. <br />• Continue to connect with Hennepin and Ramsey County <br />Adult/Juvenile protection and mobile crises teams to <br />connect residents with existing mental health and quality <br />of life resources. <br /> <br />Fiscal & Organizational Strength <br />DEVELOP EXIT PLAN FOR EXISTING TIF DISTRICTS <br />• Draft plan with financial consultant in <br />early ‘23 <br /> <br />• Former Finance Director working on this project with <br />Ehlers. <br /> <br />CITY FACILITIES <br />• City Council tour of all facilities to assess <br />status and future needs <br /> <br />• City Council and staff toured City facilities on April 17th <br />• The City engaged Oertel architects (who worked on the <br />Fire Station and Public Works facility) to perform the <br />assessment. <br />• Final report received on June 23rd. Details were used to <br />enhance the City’s CIP plan, and facilitate future <br />discussion around long-term City facility needs. <br /> <br />STAFFING <br />• Address challenges with recruitment of <br />new staff members <br /> <br />• Police Department representatives attended law <br />enforcement career fair to promote the City and increase <br />applicant pool. <br />• Police Department is piloting a Cadet Program and may <br />request to make it permanent to add an additional <br />pipeline option for future recruitment. <br />• Recruitment for a Finance Director began March 28th in <br />preparation for current Finance Director’s retirement on <br />September 30th. Candidate was selected and joined the <br />City on July 10th. <br />• Recruitment for a Fire Chief began July 21st in preparation <br />for Fire Chief’s retirement on October 31st. Candidate was <br />selected and joined the City on November 27th. <br />• Police Chief has announced a retirement date of January <br />31, 2024 and recruitment for the next Chief is underway. <br />• Recruitment for an Accounting Clerk began November 1st. <br />A candidate was chosen and will begin employment with <br />the city on January 2, 2024. <br /> <br /> <br />210
