ANTHONY <br />2 CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br />3 APRIL 9, 2024 <br />4 <br />5 CALL TO ORDER. <br />6 <br />7 Mayor Webster called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br />8 <br />9 PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE. <br />10 <br />11 Mayor Webster invited the Council and audience to join him in the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />12 <br />13 ROLL CALL. <br />14 <br />15 Present: Mayor Webster, Councilmembers Doolan, Jenson, Randle and Stephens. <br />16 <br />17 Absent: None <br />18 <br />19 Also Present: City Manager Charlie Yunker, Fire Chief Izzy Diaz, and City Planner Steve Grittman. <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 CONSIDERATION, DISCUSSION, AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON ALL OF THE FOLLOWING <br />23 ITEMS. <br />24 <br />25 I. APPROVAL OF APRIL 9, 2024 CITY COUNCIL MEETING AGENDA. <br />26 <br />27 Motion by Councilmember Doolan, seconded by Councilmember Randle, to approve the City <br />28 Council Meeting Agenda of April 9, 2024. <br />29 <br />30 Motion carried 5-0. <br />31 <br />32 II. PROCLAMATIONS AND RECOGNITIONS. <br />33 <br />34 A. Hennepin County Commissioner Irene Fernando. <br />35 <br />36 Mayor Webster welcomed Hennepin County Commissioner Fernando to the meeting. <br />37 <br />38 Commissioner Fernando introduced herself to the Council stating she was the youngest woman to serve <br />39 on the Hennepin County Board, the first Filipino American to be elected in the State of Minnesota and <br />40 the first board chair of color in Hennepin County's 172 year history. She reported it has been an honor to <br />41 represent the residents in District 2 and to extend the communities vision. She provided the Council with <br />42 a general update from Hennepin County and commented on the County's key priorities, which were <br />43 health, housing, and HERC. The extensive healthcare system in the County was described, along with <br />44 the County's regional transit system. She appreciated the Council being strong advocates for bus rapid <br />45 transit routes throughout the County and discussed how the County was working to raise the baseline for <br />46 wages. Commissioner Fernando thanked the Council for their time and stated she would available for <br />47 comments or questions. <br />48 <br />
