Parks and Environmental Commission Regular Meeting Minutes <br />March 4, 2024 <br />Page 6 <br />1 Motion by Commissioner Guest, seconded by Commissioner Swiontek, to integrate comments <br />2 into the draft ordinance, staff will discuss Three Rivers and put together an engagement plan <br />3 and proceed. <br />4 <br />5 Motion carried on a 4-1 (Holiday) vote . <br />6 <br />B.7 Work Plan Schedule. <br />8 <br />9 Mr. Yunker reviewed at its annual Goal Setting session, the City Council reviewed the draft <br />10 2024 Work Plan submitted by the Parks & Environmental Commission. There were no <br />11 changes discussed at that session, and the City Council subsequently approved the work plan <br />12 formally at their February 13, 2024 Regular Meeting. Staff is proposing the following <br />13 schedule for the 2024 Work Plan items: <br />14 <br />15 Regular Meetings: <br />16 March 4, 2024 – Beekeeping Ordinance. <br />17 June 3, 2024 – Water restrictions – enforcement and non-compliance fees. <br />18 September 9, 2024 – Review Parks Capital Improvement Plan <br />19 December 2, 2024 – TBD <br />20 <br />21 Work Sessions: <br />22 Late Spring/Early Summer – Annual walk-through of all City parks. <br />23 June 3, 2024 – Review annual walk-through of all City parks. <br />24 September 17, 2024 – Joint meeting with City Council and Planning Commission on Active <br />25 Transportation Planning. <br />26 <br />27 Other Work Session Items: <br />28 Formulate long-term plan for “Well House Park”. <br />29 Enhance Silver Point Park parking accessibility and future amenities. <br />30 Exploration of a dog park in the City. <br />31 <br />32 Ongoing throughout 2024 <br />33 Support City’s Climate Plan Implementation <br />34 Continue education & outreach in conjunction with community organizations to promote <br />35 sustainability. <br />36 Continue collaborations to enhance City green space, including with parks cleanup and <br />37 pollinator plantings. <br />38 Continue engagement with Three Rivers Park District on programming at Silverwood Park. <br />39 <br />40 Mr. Yunker asked the Commission for comments on the proposed schedule. <br />41 <br />42 Chair Fee stated the plan looks good. Mr. Yunker will schedule. They are hiring for a <br />43 Sustainability Coordinator and that person hopefully could participate in the tour and would <br />44 be the primary staffer for the Commission. <br />45 <br />46 VIII.COMMUNITY FORUM.
