ANTHONY <br />CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETING MINUTES <br />MAY 28, 2024 <br />7 Mayor Webster called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. <br />8 <br />9 PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE. <br />10 <br />11 Mayor Webster invited the Council and audience to join her in the Pledge of Allegiance. <br />12 <br />13 ROLL CALL. <br />14 <br />15 Present: <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />29 <br />30 <br />31 <br />Absent: <br />Also Present: <br />Mayor Webster, Doolan, Jenson, Randle and Stephens. <br />None. <br />City Manager Charlie Yunker, Hennepin EMS Chief Marty Scheerer, Hennepin EMS <br />Medical Director Dr. Nick Simpson, Fire Captain Mattie Jaros, Fire Chief Izzy Diaz, <br />and Police Chief Jeff Spiess. <br />CONSIDERATION, DISCUSSION, AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON ALL OF THE FOLLOWING <br />ITEMS. <br />II. APPROVAL OF MAY 28, 2024 CITY COUNCIL MEETING AGENDA. <br />Motion by Councilmember Doolan, seconded by Councilmember Jenson, to approve the City <br />Council Meeting Agenda of May 28, 2024. <br />Motion carried 5-0. <br />32 II. PROCLAMATIONS AND RECOGNITIONS. <br />33 <br />34 A. Hennepin EMS Presentation. <br />35 <br />36 Hennepin EMS Chief Marty Scheerer along with Medical Director Dr. Nick Simpson appeared <br />37 before Council to give a presentation. They provide service to 14 communities including St. <br />38 Anthony. There are 6 medical directors who are Board Certified. Hennepin EMS is a teaching <br />39 institution. In 2024 during the first quarter there were 379 calls to St. Anthony. The response <br />40 times average was 8.87 minutes. There were 19 Code 2 calls on scene and 237 Code 3 calls on <br />41 scene. Hennepin EMS serves with Emergency Medical Services, Community Paramedics, <br />42 Dispatch, Special Operations, and Emergency Medical Training along with Specialized Teams. <br />43 They have pipeline programs to solve staffing challenges which was reviewed in detail. Cutting <br />44 edge technology includes 45 new ultrasound devices, 52 Zoll X Series cardiac monitors with CO <br />45 detection, Jeenie interpreter app, double sequential defibrillation, and surgical airways. <br />46 Strengthening Services include Minnesota Task Force 1, Basic Life Support Transport Program, <br />47 Community Paramedics and Suboxone Program. St. Anthony had a pilot program for paramedic <br />48 assist unit which has been excellent. Dr. Simpson reviewed the C.A.R.E.S. Cardiac Arrest Data. <br />►.. <br />
