The facility will entail a remodel of the existing Fire Department and the <br />addition of a Police Department. This building will also house an ambulance for <br />Hennepin EMS. The predesign services provided by Oertel Architects will assess the <br />Police and Fire Department’s current operations and provide a detailed facility and <br />space needs assessment with a recommended plan. The objective of this predesign <br />process is to find out if department needs can be met with an addition to the Fire <br />Department facility, determine an early phase opinion of cost, and provide documents <br />for the city to pursue funding opportunities. <br /> <br />ARCHITECTURAL PREDESIGN – PROGRAMMING AND PLAN OPTIONS <br />· Assess Space Needs and create building program <br />o Workspaces, officing, and employee comfort <br />o Safety <br />o Policing and Fire operations best practices <br />· Provide Recommendations <br />o Optimizations, expansions, additions, and/or enhancements recommended <br />for current operations with growth projections for the next 25 years <br />· Report of Findings <br />o Executive Summary <br /> Includes a summary of findings, conclusions, and recommendations <br /> Includes an early phase opinion of cost <br />o Findings and Conclusions <br /> Includes a detailed report of the significant findings for each section <br />included in the project scope, including exhibits, and supporting <br />analytical information <br />o Implementation Plan <br /> Includes a complete action plan for implementing the <br />recommendation <br /> Includes a prioritization of actions and timeline <br />o Council Presentation <br /> Present a high-level overview of the findings to the City Council <br />25
