The City’s park system was built to
support organized sports and activities for children (i.e. playground equipment). The purpose of
the work session was to convene various stakeholders that use city parks with city leadership to
initiate discussions on how to collaborate for future park usage and evolve to meet the
community’s needs.
Maps of Silver Point, Central and Emerald Parks were provided to attendees as visual aids for
discussing the main city parks and their current uses and amenities. The below summarizes
main discussion points and themes discussed by attendees.
General Comments About SAV Parks
- The coordination for park uses between the City, School District, Community Services,
and Sports Boosters is observed to be more effective in SAV compared to other
communities.
