<br /> <br />3 <br /> <br />XCEL ENERGY PARTNERS IN ENERGY <br /> Memorandum of Understanding <br /> Implementation Phase <br />o Create content for City communication channels like newsletter, social media, <br />tabling at events, and mailed materials to encourage support for renewables. <br />• Create a targeted campaign for renewable energy to business, commercial, and multi- <br />family building owners. <br />o Create content for City to share with Chamber of Commerce to communicate <br />with businesses about renewable energy opportunities. <br />o Create materials on renewables for City to distribute to business and multi-family <br />building owners through mailers and door-to-door outreach. <br />• Promote information regarding on-site solar including funding, utility rebates, city <br />permitting requirements, and information on installers. <br />o Identify federal, state, and utility incentives for residents and businesses to install <br />solar. <br />o Create content on solar installation resources and process for website, <br />newsletters, and City welcome packet when a new resident moves to St. Anthony <br />Village. <br />• Support City to explore solar panel installation on municipal facilities. <br />o Support the identification of funding for solar panel installations on public <br />buildings. <br />o Create materials and content to help share the municipal solar projects as <br />demonstrations and educational initiatives to the community. <br /> <br />Support funded by Xcel Energy for this strategy is not to exceed 58 hours. These hours will <br />include those provided through the Partners in Energy team from Center for Energy and <br />Environment and does not include support provided by Xcel Energy internal program staff. <br /> <br />Electrification <br />• Share educational materials on new and emerging electric appliance alternatives and EV <br />chargers to residents. <br />o Identify funding and utility rebates to electrify appliances like heat pumps, water <br />heaters, clothes dryers, and to upgrade electric box. <br />o Create content for City to share at events, with local businesses on City website <br />and communication channels, and include in rental license renewals and <br />permitting processes. <br />o Create content for a fridge magnet of new appliance options and programs for <br />replacement to distribute to residents. <br />• Support City to evaluate the condition of existing City equipment and develop a <br />predicted replacement schedule and funding. <br />o Support City with identifying electric appliance alternatives and fleet electrification <br />options for departments to incorporate into the purchasing plan and account for <br />changes in equipment cost in financial planning. <br />o Help identify grants and utility rebates for alternative outdoor power equipment. <br />o Make connections to other cities that have electrified equipment and vehicles for <br />St. Anthony to learn successes and challenges.
