City Council Regular Meeting Minutes
April 22, 2025
Page 11
1 XI.COMMUNITY FORUM.
2
3 Ms. Joan Peterson, 3200 Hilldale, thanked the Council for everything they do. She referred to the
4 meeting where Partners in Energy was reviewed. She is not aware of a solid plan on how to
5 recycle solar panels or wind turbines. She referred to electric heated homes, and asked if the City
6 was going to track what type of appliances individual homes plan to use. She feels if the City
7 were to track that, it would be an invasion of privacy. There will be a huge demand for
8 electricity. There have been random outages in St. Anthony in the past few years without a
9 storm. Excel does not have the capacity today. Excel will make billions of dollars on this. Ms.
10 Peterson spoke about the transportation plan. She had a conversation with Councilmember
11 Doolan about getting kids to walk to school. She is disappointed that two Council members
12 endorsed a candidate in the last election.
13
14 Ms. Sherry Grandrude, St. Anthony Village, has lived here for 40 years. She requested feedback
15 on the Tibyan Center. She was at the City Council meeting six months ago when this was
16 discussed. At that time, it seemed it was not going to “fly”. She heard that because of the threat
17 of litigation, there was no option but to approve the Center. She asked why it was on the agenda,
18 but it was not discussed. She would like an update on whether the Tibyan Center is meeting the
19 deadlines posed.
20
21 XII.INFORMATION AND ANNOUNCEMENTS.
22
A.23 Future Agenda Items.
24
25 The next Work Session Meeting and Regular Council Meeting will be held on May 13, 2025.
26
27 Councilmember Doolan reminded all it is Earth Week with a lot of activities planned. There will
28 be a Parks Clean-up on Saturday.
29
30 Mayor Webster noted the Sister City Organization is celebrating their 40th Anniversary on April
31 27 at 11:30 a.m.
32
33 XIII. ADJOURNMENT.
34
35 The Regular Meeting of the City Council was adjourned at 9:15 p.m.
36
37 Respectfully submitted,
38 Debbie Wolfe
39 TimeSaver Off Site Secretarial, Inc.
40
41
42 Mayor
43
44 ATTEST:
45 City Clerk
13
