Page - 3 | METROPOLITAN COUNCIL
Please provide a statement explaining how you plan to do outreach and communication to
reach private property owners.
The City will include information about this grant program in our quarterly newsletters in 2026 that are
mailed to all residents. Our website has a page dedicated to the PPII program guidelines and hosting
the web form for applications. We will also utilize our social media channels (Facebook and Instagram),
as well as our website’s push notification features, to send multiple reminders to residents about the
opportunity to participate in this program while funds are available and use the full extent of our award.
In 2025’s program, several residents who received grants were neighbors who learned about the
program from each other. For 2026, a new option for outreach includes engaging previous grant
recipients to share information within their neighborhoods and networks about the program’s benefits
and their positive experiences. The City’s Parks and Environmental Commission is also available to
assist with other outreach methods that the City may choose to try, such as door-knocking or
supporting tabling at community events.
What, if any, outreach and communication support would be helpful to receive from Met
Council?
If there are resources that can be shared with the private property owners considering participation in
the program, that would be quite helpful. Something like a small flier or brochure that we can have
available to distribute, primarily for in-person outreach.
The City is also open to incorporating any Met Council-developed templates or sample language
through the various promotional channels used.
