March 10, 2026 St. Anthony Council Work Session - 4
There was a discussion about boosters in the city, and there are ways for families that cannot afford
them to be funded.
Staff was directed to look at the back-to-back outfields for two fields at Silver Point Park.
Councilmember Doolan requested that boosters look at their schedule to create less congestion. Mayor
Webster asked Staff to look at the use of fields in neighboring communities.
The Park Summit is on the schedule. Councilmember Doolan asked for the cost-benefit of the ice rinks.
Mr. Yunker stated it would be the cost of the seasonals and the water usage.
B.Council Discussion on Amicus Brief Options
Mr. Yunker noted that a confidential memo was sent to the Councilmembers and is not included in the
packet. There are three options for the Amicus Brief. Two of the options do not fit St. Anthony. The third
is not at a place where St. Anthony could join; another motion needs to be filed. Mr. Yunker asked
Council if, in the upcoming weeks, St. Anthony could join, and if Council wants Staff to do it? The City
Attorney is monitoring the situation.
Councilmember Elnagdy stated she wants St. Anthony to join. No current motions are pending in the
Court. The question is, do we want to file when it comes time to file?
Mayor Webster stated there is power in a collective voice. Adding our voice to the lawsuit will support
our community and neighboring communities.
The consensus of the Council was to proceed when appropriate.
Future Agenda Items:
The next Work Session Meeting will be held on March 24, 2026.
Adjournment:
Mayor Webster adjourned the meeting. The meeting adjourned at 6:45 p.m.
6
