City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />February 25, 2014 <br />Page 5 <br />1 Councilmember Stille thanked Mr. Grube for working with the City on the LED crossing and <br />2 providing some of the funding for this project. He stated that County Road C is dangerous from <br />3 a walkability perspective and the City needs some help to make it easier for people to traverse <br />4 through this corridor. He stated the City wants Hennepin County to complete improvements to <br />5 County Road C at the same time as Ramsey County because it would save costs, adding he <br />6 would appreciate it if the County could find the money to get this project done right. <br />7 <br />8 Mayor Pro Tem Roth thanked Mr. Grube for the update. <br />9 <br />10 VII. REPORTS FROM CITY MANAGER AND COUNCIL MEMBERS. <br />11 <br />12 City Manager Casey stated there have been nine water main breaks so far this winter, adding that <br />13 three of the breaks were located in the 2014 street and utility improvement project. He advised <br />14 there have been three service line breaks this winter and three freeze -ups. He stated the City has <br />15 received a lot of calls complimenting the Public Works Department on their snow plowing and <br />16 recited two emails thanking the Public Works staff for the great job in removing the snow. He <br />17 expressed thanks to the Public Works staff for the great work they have done during this difficult <br />18 winter and also thanked residents for their patience. He indicated the additional snow has put a <br />19 strain on the City's budget but the City has contingencies in place and the City will do whatever <br />20 it takes to make sure the roads remain safe. He stated that the Star Tribune will be publishing an <br />21 article in March about the City's carp removal project. <br />22 <br />23 Councilmember Stille reported on his attendance at a meeting last week of the National <br />24 Association of Industrial Office Properties where the featured topic was the two new office <br />25 buildings being built in Minneapolis. <br />26 <br />27 Councilmember Gray - no report. <br />28 <br />29 Mayor Pro Tem Roth - no report. <br />30 <br />31 VIII. COMMUNITY FORUM. <br />32 <br />33 Mayor Pro Tem Roth invited residents to come forward at this time and address the Council on <br />34 items that are not on the regular agenda. Hearing none, Mayor Pro Tem Roth moved forward <br />35 with the agenda. <br />36 <br />37 IX.
