City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />December 14, 2004 <br />Page 3 <br />Councilnnembers discussed the matter and all agreed that it is important for the City to move on <br />from this Chapter and have the full five members. <br />Motion by Councilmember Forst, seconded by Councilmember Faust, to direct Staff to proceed <br />with the process for appointment of a Council Member. <br />7 Motion earned unanimously. <br />8 <br />9 VII. REPORTS FROM CITX ]MANAGER AND COUNCIL MEMBERS. <br />10 City Manager Mornson reported the following: <br />11 ® This is the end of the second year with GMI1A and the City will need to renew by <br />12 Resolution. He then said he would have staff come to provide an activity report and <br />13 noted that this is a very cost effective program. for the City. <br />14 ® Public Hearing on December 21, 2004 on the Qwest development at Apache <br />15 0 There was a request for a new commercial development next to the new Tires Plus <br />16 m The City just completed the installation of a new telephone system that integrates all <br />17 departments and locations within the City. <br />18 ® Open house at Sunset Cemetery January 11, 2005 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. <br />19 ® New electronic sign at City Hall donations received from St. Anthony Chambcr, Kiwams <br />20 and. Xcel Energy. <br />21 <br />22 Cotmcihnember Horst indicated lie did not have a report but thanked all the residents that voted <br />23 for him and those that helped with his campaign especially Peter LaBarge, Thad Hunter and <br />24 Julianne Hunter. He indicated that Mr. Faust will make an excellent Mayor for the City and <br />25 offered his congratulations. <br />26 <br />27 Councilmember Stille had no report. <br />28 <br />29 Councilmember Faust thanked everyone for the support and for electing him as Mayor of the <br />30 City. Ile then thanked City Staff for all the worts they do and commended the fire department <br />31 and Officer Huddle for his work with a family that had a house fire just before Thanksgiving. <br />32 <br />33 Mayor Pro -tem Thuesen thanked residents for coming out to vote and Staff for its efforts. He <br />34 then thanked Barb for her idea of having children in from the extended day program to see how <br />35 voting machines and the voting process work. <br />36 <br />37 VIII. COMMUNITY FORUM <br />38 Mayor Fro -tem Thuesen invited residents to come forward at this time and address the Council <br />39 on items that are not on the regular agenda. <br />40 <br />41 Hearing none, Mayor Pro -tem Thuesen moved forward with the agenda. <br />42 <br />43 IX. INFORMATION AND ANNOUNCEMENTS. <br />44 Mayor Pro -tem Thuesen thanked Council, Staff and residents for the assistance during his tenure <br />45 as Mayor Pro -tem and said that he learned and grew in public service during this time. <br />46 <br />47 X. MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATIONAL DOCUMENTS. <br />
