CITY OF ST. ANTHONY RESOLUTION 06-023 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ESTABLISHMENT A TASK FORCE TO PREPARE AN UPDATE TO THE CITY OF ST. ANTHONY'S COMPREHENSIVE LAND USE PLAN AS REQUIREMENT BY THE STATE OF MINNESOTA WHEREAS, In 1998, the City of St Anthony submitted an updated Comprehensive Land Use Plan as required by statute to the Metropolitan Council; and WHEREAS, the City of St. Anthony has seen many changes to its Comprehensive Land Use Plan since 1998 due to redevelopment, road reconstruction and population growth; and WHEREAS, on September 12, 2005 the City received a letter from the Metropolitan Council advising the City that it would be required to provide them with a ten (10) -year update to the City's Comprehensive Land Use Plan and also addressing issues as identified by the Met Council's 2030 Regional Development Framework that may impact the City's transportation, water resources management and regional parks plans; and WHEREAS, while the Comprehensive Land Use Plan establishes zoning and land uses for the City, it also guides current and future zoning and land use decisions in the City; and WHEREAS, the City Staff is seeking City Council approval for professional planning assistance for the required Comprehensive Land Use Plan Update; and WHEREAS, once the City Staff has established a list of interested and qualified planning consultant firms, this list will be provided to the City Council for approval; and BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of St. Anthony hereby authorizes City Staff to coordinate, plan and write a Request of Proposal (RFP) to be distributed to qualified planning firms and to provide City Council a list of interested consulting firms that have responded to the aforementioned RFP.
