PUBLIC HEARINGS. <br />None. <br />V. REPORTS FROM COMMISSION AND STAFF. (Todd Hanson, Planning Commission) <br />A. Resolution 06-062; Variance for Parking Expansion for Building Fasteners located <br />at 2825/2827 Agony Lane South <br />Commissioner Todd Hanson presented a resolution for a parking lot variance for Building <br />Fasteners located at 2825 and 2827 Anthony Lane South. Commissioner Hanson stated, in of <br />June and July 2006, Mr. O'Brien came before the Planning Commission and presented a request <br />for a parking variance. Commissioner Hanson reported Building Fasteners would be adding <br />eleven additional parking lot stalls. He indicated, as the City Code currently stands, Mr. O'Brien <br />would be below the number of required parking stalls. Commissioner Hanson explained that Mr. <br />O'Brien would need a nine -foot variance and a four -foot variance along Anthony Lane South. <br />Mr. Loren O'Brien presented a brief history of Building Fasteners. He stated Building Fasteners <br />started with three employees in 1988. Mr. O'Brien reported the business had expanded to five <br />locations. Mr. O'Brien expressed that he considers St. Anthony as the headquarters for Building <br />Fasteners and the five other locations. The company has grown considerably in last 10 years <br />and continues to add administrative positions to the St. Anthony location. Mr. O'Brien stated <br />Building Fasteners is a 24-hour operation and parking issues occur during the morning shift <br />change. Mr. O'Brien stated he research other options before coming up with the option <br />presented. <br />Mr. O'Brien displayed a map of the location and pointed out where the new parking spaces <br />would be located. He stated he worked with Planning & Zoning to come up with a plan. He <br />indicated he would eventually like to add additional office space. To offset some of the green <br />space, Mr. O'Brien pointed out where the entry and exit area at the northeast end of the property <br />would be eliminated and turned into green space. <br />Councilmember Stille asked Mr. O'Brien to further explain the proposed total of 45 spaces. <br />r <br />
