City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />October 10, 2006 <br />Page 9 <br />1 Mr. Hubmer introduced Mr. Brett Weise, President WSB and Mayor Faust expressed his <br />2 pleasure with the work of Mr. Hubmer. He stated WSB has always done high quality work for <br />3 the City. <br />4 <br />5 VII. REPORTS FROM CITY MANAGER AND COUNCILMEMBERS. <br />6 <br />7 City Manager Mornson stated this past month he and Council members Gray and Stille met with <br />8 the School Board on joint projects and he would be presenting the information to the full Council <br />9 and School Board at the next joint meeting. <br />10 <br />11 City Manager Mornson reported on Friday, October 6, he and the Mayor escorted 50 guests on a <br />12 tour of Silver Lake Village. He reported they were very impressed with our water features, <br />13 holding pond, the park features, and the redevelopment. <br />14 <br />15 City Manager Mornson reported the Fire Department would hold an open house for fire <br />16 prevention month on October 11, 2006. <br />17 <br />18 City Manager Mornson reported the next Comprehensive Plan meeting is scheduled for October <br />19 18, 2006 at 6:30. <br />20 <br />21 City Manager Mornson reported the next quarterly meeting with the School Board is scheduled <br />22 for October 30, 2006. <br />23 <br />24 Councilmember Gray reported he met with the School Board where the superintendent talked <br />25 about the on-going car sales at Wilshire Park. He asked that anyone seeing this happen, to report <br />26 it as this is against City ordinance and the school is not happy with this. <br />27 <br />28 Councilmember Horst reported the topic of discussion at the Community Services Board <br />29 Meeting on October 5, was the meetings with Staff, School Board and City Council on funding. <br />30 He stated he would wait until the committee report comes out to comment. <br />31 <br />32 Mayor Faust reported he walked around with 50 landscape architects and university professors <br />33 from all over the United States and some international visitors. He commented they were very <br />34 impressed with how this all came together. Mayor Faust pointed out it is important for the City <br />35 to be highlighted and any time we have the opportunity should take advantage of it. <br />36 <br />37 VIII. COMMUNITY FORUM. <br />38 <br />39 Hearing none, Mayor Faust moved forward with the agenda. <br />40 <br />41 IX. INFORMATION AND ANNOUNCEMENTS. <br />42 <br />43 Mayor Faust informed everyone that on Monday October 16 the Chamber of Commerce would <br />44 sponsor a candidate forum including Legislative District Senate and House members along with <br />45 the Hennepin County commissioner's race. He encouraged residents to attend and ask questions <br />46 of the candidates. <br />
