City Council Regular Meeting Minutes January 9, 2007 Page 10 I City Manager Morrison reported Friday, January 12, 2007 members of the St. Anthony Police 2 Department, including the Chief and the Captain, will be playing basketball with various fifth 3 through eighth grade teams at the High School beginning at 6:30 p.m. 4 5 City Manager Morrison reported On March 12, 2007 a meeting will be held with the Park 6 Commission and on March 20, 2007 a meeting will be held with the Planning Commission on 7 goals and projects. 9 City Manager Morrison reported February 12, 2007 is Liquor Legislative Day in St. Paul. He 10 stated he and Mike Larson would attend. 11 12 City Manager Morrison reported that on March 29, 2007 the League of Minnesota Cities 13 Legislative Forum would be. He stated he and the Mayor would attend. He asked if anyone from 14 the Council would like to attend, to please let him know. 1.5 16 City Manager Morrison reported on March 31, 2007 a Former Elected Officials Meeting would 17 be held. Ile stated that there are seven different meetings being held in March. 18 19 City Manager Morrison reported The Pay Equity Report is due January 31, 2007. He explained 20 this is a snapshot of City payroll as of December 31, 2006 and would be on the January 23, 2007 21 Consent Agenda. 22 23 City Manager Morrison reported on the Northeast Diagonal Trail update indicting the bid 24 opening would be February 15, 2007 with construction from spring to fall 2007. 25 26 City Manager Morrison announced he was asked to be a Junior Achievement Volunteer for the 27 second grade at Wilshire Park Elementary from February to March 2007. 28 29 City Manager Morrison reported that on April 3, 2007 (5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.) the Hennepin 30 County Open Book Meeting would be held. He explained this is when residents of Hennepin 31 County portion of St. Anthony have an opportunity to talk to the County Assessor on their 32 property taxes. 33 34 Councilmember Horst reported meeting on January 7, 2007 with the Sister City Association. He 35 stated the topic of discussion was the visit by 15 students from the School of Moisio in Salo, 36 Finland. Ile indicated the time period for this visit is somewhere between May 14 — 22, 2007. 37 He stated it might be a good time to dedicate the sculpture while the students are here. They 38 also did a brief brainstorming session on ways to improve and work with Sister City. 39 40 Mayor Faust agreed it is a good idea to have the sculpture dedication at that time. 41 42 Councilmember Thuesen reported that on January 22, 2007 the St. Anthony Library would host 43 Mr. Bill Saurers who will present his dog sledding adventures to Spitzbergen Island. He also 44 mentioned the Library would hold a mini book sale on Monday, February 5, 2007 from noon to 45 7:00 p.m. 46 ME
