STAFF REPORT <br />To: City Council <br />hrom: Kim Moore -Sykes, Assistant City Manager IM I <br />Date: January 23, 2007 <br />Subject: 2006 Pay Equity Report: <br />Background: <br />Once every three years, the City of St. Anthony is requited by the Local Government: Pay Lquity Act, Minnesota <br />Statutes 471.991 to 471.999 to submit a pay equity report to the State Department of Employee Relations. This <br />pay equity report is to insure that working conditions, salaries and health benefits are comparable or the same for <br />all employee classes within the City of St. Anthony. <br />Once submitted, DOER will review this report for compliance with the Local Government Pay Equity Act. If it <br />is determined that the City is out of compliance, the City will have an opportunity to correct the situation and <br />resubmit. Should the City refuse to correct the noncompliance for any reason, DOER has the authority to make <br />a ruling and apply fines and penalties until compliance is achieved. To date, the City has not been ruled out of <br />compliance by DOER. <br />'Ehe City's 2006 Pay Equity Implementation Report needs to have formal approval by the governing body of the <br />jurisdiction that has final budgetary approval authority over the jurisdiction's employees. <br />Rcc uested Action: Council approval of the City's 2006 Pay Equity Implementation Report <br />Attachments: <br />• Resolution 07-017 Approving the City's Pay Lquity Implementation Report <br />2006 Pay Lquity Report Staff Report 012307.doc <br />
