City Council Regular Meeting Minutes April 10, 2007 Page 7 I City Manager Morrison reported the City Clean -Up Day is May 5, 2007 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 2 p.m. 4 City Manager Morrison reported the Northeast Diagonal Project construction would begin in 5 May and continue throughout the summer. He stated information would be put on the web. IIe 6 commented this is a bicycle/walking path that ties St. Anthony to Minneapolis and Roseville. 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 33 34 35 36 37 38 39 40 41 42 43 44 45 46 City Manager Morrison reported Public Works Director Hartman did a greatjob on the I/I inspection. He stated Mr. Hartman has been in over 100 homes and did a greatjob representing the City. City Manager Morrison reported the Junior Achievement second graders would attend the April 24, 2007 Council Meeting. He stated Mayor Faust met with the second graders and talked about what it is like to be a mayor. Councilmember Stille stated lie attended the League of Minnesota Cities meeting at the capital on March 29, 2007. He reported he met with several senators and asked them to push the open enrollment bill. Council member Thuesen reported he also met at the Capital and felt it was a worthwhile meeting. Councilmember Horst reported he met with the Public Works Director Jay Hartman to discuss the plaque and the monument dedicating the sculpture on May 17, 2007. He stated the design was approved and Mr. Hartman did a great job working with the Sister Cities Association in getting a design and the project off the ground. Mayor Faust reported attending the League of Minnesota Cities Legislative Conference. He commented this session included all local Cities, Counties, and School districts meeting with legislators. He stated this was the first time these three groups met together in total. He stressed that when this group attends together, it has a bigger impact. Mayor Faust stated he would continue to work with the school board. Mayor Faust reported Council attended a former elected officials briefing on March 31, 2007. He stated the accomplishments of 2006 and the goals for 2007 were presented. Mayor Faust indicated the input from these individuals is invaluable. He stated this is the third year this has been done. Mayor Faust reported he met with the residents of Chandler Place on April 4, 2007 to share the City's goals and accomplishments. VIII. COMMUNITY FORUM. Mayor Faust invited residents to come forward at this time and address the Council on items not on the regular agenda.
