Ile stated the open house would include <br />individuals from the City and the County to answer questions. <br />City Engineer Hubmer reported on the status of the 2007 Street and Utility Project, stating it <br />would begin construction on April 16, 2007 at 39t" Avenue, Roosevelt Street, Pahl Avenue, 27th <br />Avenue, and Highway 88 and Hillcrest Road. <br />City Engineer Hubmer reported a trenchless technology would be used on the alleys. He stated <br />the contractor would not be allowed to tear up both sides of the street, thus giving access to <br />residents and their homes. <br />City Engineer Hubmer stated a meeting was held with St. Charles Church to coordinate activities <br />and the logistics to house the construction trailer and materials. He reported they are also <br />working with homeowners groups to address access issues on Paul Avenue. <br />Mayor Faust asked Mr. Ilubmer to comment on the 2007 Construction Newsletter. <br />City Engineer Hubmer replied the newsletter was sent to City Council, residents being assessed <br />for the project, and the rental units involved, as there would be access issues during excavation. <br />He commented the School District, Police, Fire, and others involved with the project were <br />notified. <br />Councilmember Stille asked about the sidewalk in Phase III. <br />City Engineer Hubmer replied sidewalk portion might start earlier and changed to one of the first <br />projects. ITe explained there would be times when the utility crews overlap so the utilities would <br />be moved up. <br />Mayor Faust asked about keeping the crews working effectively. <br />City Engineer Hubmer replied that in years past conflicts with crews and delays existed. He <br />stated he would be working closely with the contractor to coordinate the most effective work <br />schedule. <br />City Engineer Hubmer reported on the progress of the Water Treatment Plant Upgrades Project. <br />He stated improvements to one of the two filter vessels had been completed and work on the <br />second vessel is scheduled to be on line in May. Ire reported that replacing the filters corrected <br />the Manganese problem in the water. Mr. Hubmer reported the flushing of hydrants would take <br />place in the next two weeks or so. He asked everyone to be aware that this stirs up the water. <br />City Manager Morrison commented Mr. Hubmer would come to the first City Council meeting <br />each month for the next three months to report on the status of all the projects. He indicated the <br />need for the updates would be reevaluated. <br />5 <br />
