He stated it would bring more individuals into the City who would use other <br />businesses in St. Anthony. Ile commented the change to more office space in this area is also a <br />plus. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />VI. GENERAL POLICY BUSINESS OF THE COUNCIL <br />A. Ordinance 07-055; Single Sort Recycling (Second Reading) <br />City Manager Mornson reported that in September 2006, the City Council adopted an ordinance <br />allowing single -sort recycling in St. Anthony for twelve (12) months as a pilot program. He <br />explained the City Council wanted to see how well the community accepted this change in <br />collecting recyclables, if this method was efficient in its collection of recyclables, and effective <br />in maintaining or increasing recycling efforts within the community. <br />Councilmember Gray inquired whether emails or calls were received since the last meeting. <br />City Manager Mornson replied none had been received. <br />Mayor Faust imparted comments he heard from residents. He stated he was not concerned about <br />the tonnage amount, as it might no longer be a good metric. <br />Motion by Councilmember Thuesen, seconded by Councilmember Gray, to approve Ordinance <br />07-005, an Ordinance approving Chapter 555 of the City Ordinance, Single Sort Recycling, <br />Second Reading. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />VII. REPORTS FROM CITY MANAGER AND COUNCIL MEMBERS <br />City Manager Mornson reminded Council that there are three scheduled regular Council <br />meetings left for the year — November 13, and 27 and December 11, 2007. <br />City Manager Mornson requested Council members review the invitation to attend the <br />Metropolitan Regional Meeting in Bloomington and let him know if they wish to attend. <br />City Manager Mornson reported attending the ICMA Conference where speakers provided <br />information on civic engagement, performance management, and budget presentation. He stated <br />he brought back information and ideas to consider for implementation with the department <br />heads. <br />3 <br />
