City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />October 23, 2007 <br />Page 4 <br />City Manager Morrison reported the November 13, 2007 meeting agenda included a reports form <br />the City Engineer on the Road Reconstruction Task Force, the Ramsey County Commissioner's <br />report, the Greater Metropolitan Housing Agency, and the canvassing of the election results. <br />City Manager Morrison reported the Planning and Park Commission seat applications are due on <br />November 16. <br />9 City Manager Morrison reported he volunteered as a Junior Achievement volunteer for the third <br />10 grade again this year. He will volunteer for two thirds grade this year at Wilshire. <br />11 <br />12 City Manager Morrison pointed out the Middle Mississippi Watershed Organization educational <br />13 kiosk available in the hallway at City Hall. He explained the kiosk would display information on <br />14 cleaning up the environment. <br />15 <br />16 Councilmember Stille questioned City Manager Mornson about the Northeast Diagonal Trail and <br />17 access to St. Anthony Boulevard. <br />18 <br />19 City Manager Morrison replied the ramp would be opened on November 19, 2007. <br />20 <br />21 Councilmember Stille reported he attended the quarterly Family Services Collaborative meeting. <br />22 He explained this group serves at -risk youth and is always looking for members. He stated the <br />23 Family Services Collaborative would host a Computer Internet Safety seminar on October 24, <br />24 2007 (7:00 — 8:00 p.m.) and a Sexual Assault and Personal Safety seminar on November 7, 2007 <br />25 given by Police Chief John Ohl. <br />26 <br />27 Councilmember Thuesen reported the Road Reconstruction Task Force would report its findings <br />28 at the November 13, 2007 Council Meeting, <br />29 <br />30 Mayor Faust reported attending the League of Minnesota Cities Board of Directors meeting on <br />31 October 18, 2007. He reported the Board heard reports on how the League of Minnesota Cities <br />32 interacted with the flooding victims in southern Minnesota; heard a Telecommunications Task <br />33 Force report; the Board of Trustees of the 4M Fund activities report; discussed Best Value <br />34 Contracting; reviewed draft policies for approval on November 29, 2007; prioritized goals and <br />35 tactics; and developed nine objectives. Ile stated the nine objectives include: 1) enhance <br />36 understanding of the League of Minnesota Cities by the general public; 2) focus strategies by <br />37 giving newly elected officials information needed to do their job; 3) discussion of big ideas; 4) <br />38 conduct statewide survey to determine what cities value; 5) collaborate local government <br />39 initiatives; 6) new cost effective ways to deliver services; 7) influence behavior by elective <br />40 official's that inspire public confidence; 8) address demographic impacts; and 9) exploring <br />41 expanded onsite or regional League of Minnesota Cities services. <br />42 <br />43 Mayor Faust stated he believes the League of Minnesota Cities <br />44 <br />0 <br />
