1325.06 Fire Lanes. <br />W. <br />Subd. 1. Orders Establishing. The Fire Marshal may order the establishment of fire lanes <br />on public or private property as may be necessary for travel of fire or emergency <br />equipment and access to fire hydrants protection devices or buildings. When a fire lane <br />has been ordered to be established, it shall be marked by a sign signage and painting of <br />curbs and roadways according to the Minnesota Manual of Uniform Traffic Control <br />Devices and as approved by the Fire Marshal bearing the words "No Parking, Fire Lane-, <br />9rder of the Fire Chie€.-' If there is a curb in the fire lane, it must be painted yellow. The <br />Fire Marshal may require the fire lane to be outlined in yellow on the pavement. When <br />the fire lane is on public property or a public right-of-way, the sign or signs will be <br />erected by the City. When the fire lane is on private property, the sign or signs will be <br />erected by the owner at the owner's expense as directed by the Fire Chief. The signs <br />must be erected within 30 days after notice of the order. <br />Subd. 2. Obstruction; Impoundment. No person may leave a vehicle or other object <br />unattended or otherwise occupy or obstruct a fire lane. When any motor vehicle or other <br />object occupies or obstructs any duly designated fire lane in a manner inconsistent with <br />the land's intended use for fire protection purposes, or prevents access to any fire <br />hydrant or fire protection device in the normal and usual manner by fire protection <br />personnel and equipment; the Fire Marshal or Police Department personnel may order the <br />introduction impoundment of the vehicle or other object, al" er-�r.a�a: g-a4easenah4e <br />offorti}i-the iir�mediate vieivrity to asc�r�ain 4he identity-aval4oeatien e€the-ewnen-er —her <br />persex le tvtng the-vehislo in t n arae.
