IN <br />1325.15 Monitoring of Fire Protection Equipment. Fire alarm systems and bells controlling the <br />water supply and water -flow switches on automatic sprinkler systems shall be electronically <br />monitored by an approved central station service in accordance to this section. <br />Subd. 1. Application of requirements. This section shall apply to the following: <br />(a) New fire alarm systems. <br />(b) Existing fire alarm systems when upgrades or expanded. <br />(c) New sprinkler systems with 20 or more sprinkler heads. <br />(d) Existing sprinkler systems with 100 or more sprinkler heads. <br />(e) Existing sprinkler systems when upgraded or expanded by five sprinkler heads or <br />more and the number of sprinkler heads following upgrade or expansion is 20 or <br />more. <br />Subd. 2. Distinctive Signals. General fire alarms, bells monitoring, water flow, trouble <br />and supervisory signals shall be distinctively different and shall be automatically <br />transmitted to an approved central station in accordance with National Fire Protection <br />Association (NFPA) Standard 72. <br />Subd. 3. Certificate Required. An Underwriter's Laboratory (IJI,) 72 "Central Station <br />Fire Alarm System Certificate" shall be required for all electrically monitored fire alarm <br />and sprinkler systems and communicators. <br />Subd. 4. Public Utilities Accepted. This section does not apply to underground key or hub <br />valves in the roadway boxes provided by the City. <br />1325.16 Open Burnine. Open burning prohibited. Except as otherwise permitted by this section, <br />all open burning is prohibited in the City of St. Anthony. <br />Subd. 1. Definitions. For the purpose of this section, the following definitions shall apply: <br />(a) "Open Fire" or "Open burning" means a fire in matter, whether concentrated or <br />dispersed which is not contained within a fully enclosed firebox, structure, or vehicle, <br />from which the products of combustion are emitted directly to the open atmosphere <br />without passing through a stack, duct or chimney. <br />(b) "Person" includes any natural person acting either personally or in any representative <br />capacity, a corporation, a firm, a co -partnership, or an association of any nature or <br />kind. <br />(c)"Starter Fuels" means dry, untreated, unpainted wood or charcoal fire starter. Paraffin <br />candles and alcohols are permitted as starter fuels and as aids to ignition only. <br />Propane gas torches or other clean gas burning devices causing minimal pollution <br />must be used to start an open fire. <br />(d) "Wood" means dry, clean fuel such as twigs, branches, limbs, presto logs", charcoal, <br />cord wood or untreated dimensional lumber.
