Consider Resolution_08 044,, Aqmxoval ofthe Amendment to the Hemriepin County <br />Construction Agreement. <br />City Engineer Ilubmer reviewed the resolution with the Council and indicated that the proposed <br />resolution accepts Amendment Ito the Construction Services Agreement with IIenncpm County <br />for the Silver Lake Road hnprovement Project. The amendment authorizes payment to the City <br />for 4195,075.00 to provide water quality treatment for the Silvcr Lake Road Improvements, <br />which will be provided under the Water Reuse Facility Project, <br />Mayor Faust commended City Engineer Ilubmer for the negotiations with IIennepin County on <br />the County's participation in the Water Reuse Facility Project. <br />Motion by Councilmember Gray, seconded by Councilmcm,ber Stille, to adopt Resolution 08 - <br />044, Approval of the First Amendment tot eh Hennepin County Conshuction Agreement. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />City Engineer Ilubmer explained with the Silver Lake Road 'Project, the Water Reuse Project, <br />and the possibility of reconstructing the City Hall parking lot, the contingency funds available <br />are minimal at most. He informed the Council of the possibility of coming forward at a future <br />date to request additional funds if there are significant changes to the projects. <br />Councilmember Roth requested information regarding the sod that was recently put in on 27°i <br />Avenue that is brown. <br />City Engineer Hubmer replied the contractor will be required to replace the sod. Staff had <br />notified the contractor shortly after the installation that the sod was not adequately watered. The <br />sod was not cared for according to the City's specifications and the replacement will be at no <br />expense to the City. <br />REPORTS FROM CITY MANAGER AND COUNCIL MEMBFRS. <br />City Manager Mornson reported on the following: <br />• League of Minnesota Cities Conference - June 11°i - 13°' <br />• Letter received from Columbia Heights Police Chief recognizing the efforts of St. <br />Anthony Officers Jeff Spiess, Tressa Sunde and Josh White in assisting with the <br />apprehension of a burglary suspect on June 5, 2008. <br />• Deadline to apply for the Single Garbage Hauler Task Force has been extended to July <br />17"'. The intent is to appoint the task force members at the July 22`11 City Council <br />meeting. The first task force meeting is intended to be scheduled for August 18"i. As of <br />this date there have been two applications submitted. <br />Two Committees will begin in July - 1) Transportation and General Government; 2) <br />Metro Cities and Personnel, LMC. <br />The July 8, 2008 City Council meeting is not necessary; Council may choose to cancel <br />the meeting. <br />
