Consider Resolution 08-082; Adopting the 2009 Annual Budget. <br />Mayor Faust stated the public hearing on the 2009 PropertyTax Levy and Operating Budget was <br />held at the Truth -in -Taxation meeting on December 8, 2008. The proposed resolution approves <br />the 2009 Tax Levy and Budget as proposed. <br />Mr. Mornson reviewed the resolution with the Council. He indicated the resolution complies <br />with State Law and Truth -in -Taxation requirements, setting the 2009 Operating Budget and <br />Property Tax Levy as presented on December 8, 2008. Mr. Mornson provided an overview of the <br />following information in relation to the 2009 Property Tax Levy and Operating Budget: <br />• Issues impacting the 2009 Budget <br />• Total Levy <br />o General Fund Levy <br />o Road Improvement Levy <br />o Lease Revenue Bonds <br />o HRA Levy <br />o Tax Abatement Levy <br />o PERA Levy <br />o Breakdown of 2009 Property Taxes <br />Mr. Momson stated the total 2009 tax levy is proposed to be $4,601,937.20. The 2009 General <br />Fund Budget totals $5,277,400.00. <br />Motion by Councilmember Roth, seconded by Councilmember Stille, to adopt Resolution 08- <br />082, Setting the City of St. Anthony 2009 'fax Levy and Operating Budget. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />REPORTS FROM CITY MANAGER AND COUNCIL MEMBERS. <br />City Manager Mornson reported on the following: <br />® Environmental Award nomination from the Pollution Control Agency for reducing salt <br />amount based on training put on by Mississippi Watershed Management Organization <br />(MWMO) staff. <br />® A request has been submitted for a grant request to Transit for Livable Communities for <br />sidewalks along 37'x' Avenue from H.igherest to Stinson Blvd. <br />® A request has been submitted to the Federal Government for 'infrastructure money that <br />may be available in 2009. <br />® A grant request for $17,000 has been submitted to the Metropolitan Emergency Board for <br />800 MgH Radios for Public Works. <br />11 <br />
