f <br />20013 POLICE RESERVE SUMMARY <br />Prepared by Officer Tressa Sunde <br />In 2008, the Reserve Unit underwent some big changes. I, Officer- Tressa <br />Sunde, took over as the Reserve Coordinator. 1 carne to the unit with over 9 <br />years on the police department, and started my law enforcement career as a <br />Reserve Officer with the St. Anthony Reserves! I currently work the streets <br />on patrol and am also a Crime Prevention Officer and coordinator for the <br />Citizen Police Academy. I am proud to report that the Reserve Unit once <br />again proved itself to be a strong and valuable asset to the police department. <br />left are: <br />We began the year with 9 Reserve Officers and <br />received the authorization for 12 Reserve <br />Officers. In February we recruited and hired 3 <br />new Reserve Officers to complete the Unit. <br />They are; Reserve Officers Phil Finke, Sam <br />Toberman, and Linda Brotemarkle. <br />Four of our Reserve Officers attended the 6 - <br />week Hennepin County Sheriff's Department <br />Reserve School. All of them completed the <br />course and graduated in May. (Pictured to the <br />Reserve Officers Phil Finke, Derek Kruse, Sam Toberman and <br />Linda Brotemarkle) <br />In August, Reserve Sergeant Rushton stepped down from his <br />position to more actively pursue the completion of his law <br />enforcement degree. Reserve Officer Chase Yadeau was <br />promoted to the position of Sergeant. Reserve Officers Chris <br />Cox and Chad Linell both resigned to pursue other interests. <br />In July, we recruited 4 more new Reserve <br />Officers into the unit. <br />They are; Reserve Officers Andy Kukowski, Cory Sinon, <br />Donna Kodet and Mike Pristash. <br />The Reserve unit logged a total of 2962 hours in 2008, and remains a <br />valuable and integrated asset to the police department. <br />17 <br />
