Mr. Bjom=d stated that the School District will not include flashing or animation as part of the <br />software program to be used for the proposed electronic sign so as to be in conformance with the City <br />Code, 155.29(D)(2)(a). <br />3. The requested Conditional Use Permit is considered necessary or desirable at the subject <br />location to provide a service or a facility which is in the interest of public convenience and will <br />contribute to the general welfare of the neighborhood or community. The School District states <br />that it is the intent of this proposed electronic to communicate school district information and events <br />that will be of interest to the community (155.29(D)(2)(0). <br />Communications: Staff received no phone calls regarding the proposed electronic sign for this school location. <br />One resident who attended the concept review and lives across the street from the Middle School/High School <br />did voice concerns about the possible flashing, animation or brightness issues that might be associated with the <br />proposed electronic sign. <br />Staff also received a call from a resident who voiced objections about the public notification process for the <br />electronic signs for both locations, Wilshire Park Elementary and the Middle School/High School. While the <br />resident is not within the notification area either school, he was concerned that the community would find the <br />information confusing and difficult to find. <br />Attachments: <br />• Application <br />• Design.
