Anthony Baseball.Association, has <br />appeared before the Planning Commission in a public hearing requesting that the City's Ordinance be amended <br />to allow the School District 282 to be able to post temporary commercial signs on the outfield fences in Palin <br />Field. The Planning Commission gabled the public hearing to May 19, 2009. Mr. Brever also attended the May <br />19, 2009 Planning Commission meeting. <br />Staff received a written request dated Marsch 25, 2009 from the Superintendent of Schools, asking that the City <br />consider amending the language of Title XV, Section 155, Sites (formerly Chapter 14) " ... to allow for the <br />installation of signs with advertising on the varsity baseball field as a means to generate income for field <br />improvements" (letter dated Marsch 4, 2009, Rod Thompson, Superintendent: of Schools) .'Phis request would <br />also require consideration of amending the following Sections: <br />Section 155.21 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS, (D) Tlacement of Signs, which states that, "No sign, or <br />attachment to it, may be erected, placed or maintained by any person on rocks, fences, or trees, nor: in such a <br />marmot as to interfere with any electric fights, power, telephone or telegraph wires, or the supports thereof"; <br />Section 155.22 PROHIBITED SIGNS., (13)(13) Signs Affixed Utility Poles, tnd_Fences.
