City Council Regular Meeting Minutes <br />January 26, 2010 <br />Page 3 <br />1 • Liquor Store year end profits — $477,000 <br />2 • Redo/Reconstruct of the city website will begin in February with Gov Office <br />3 • Joint Park Commission Meeting is scheduled for February 8`h at 5:15 p.m. <br />4 • Department Head Reports are scheduled: February 9`h - March 9`h <br />5 • Auditors will be conducting the 2009 Audit — January/March <br />6 • 2011 Budget Calendar begins in March <br />7 • Erosion Control Seminar at St. Anthony City Hall — February 11`h @ 9 a.m. —11 a.m. or <br />8 1 p.m. — 3 p.m. <br />9 • Flu Shot Clinic will be held in the Council Chambers — February 0h @ 3 p.m. — 6 p.m. <br />10 • Citizen's Academy will begin March 10'h <br />11 <br />12 Mayor Faust requested City Manager Mornson to commend Liquor Manager Larson and his staff <br />13 for the great job and the Police and Fire Departments for their work with students. <br />14 <br />15 Councilmember Stile: No report.. <br />16 <br />17 Councilmember Gray: No report. <br />18 <br />19 Councilmember Jenson reported on his attendance at the Metro Cities 2010 Legislative Kickoff <br />20 Session on January 21, 2010. Much of the discussion centered around the budget situation. <br />21 <br />22 Councilmember Roth: No report. <br />23 <br />24 Mayor Faust reported on his attendance at the following events: <br />25 • January 13, 2010 Minnesota Environmental Quality Board Coordinating Planning Group <br />26 Meeting. He has been appointed by the League of Minnesota Cities to represent <br />27 municipalities. The group is dealing with requirements for the various comprehensive <br />28 plans, including how the reports are consolidated with a logical sequence. This should <br />29 result in a smoother operation and a better product in the end. It will require legislative <br />30 effort at the state, as well as the federal level, and will likely be brought to the legislature <br />31 in the 2011 legislative session. <br />32 • January 14 & 15, 2010 City Council/Staff Retreat <br />33 • January 19, 2010 Mississippi Watershed Management Organization (MWMO) meeting. <br />34 He was elected Chair of the MWMO and Scott Vreeland of Minneapolis Parks and <br />35 Recreation Board was elected Vice Chair. <br />36 • January 22, 2010 presentation of the ACEC Grand Award for the Water Re -Use Project. <br />37 • January 23, 2010 he was invited to speak at the orientation of new Minneapolis Park and <br />38 Recreation Board members at Gross National Golf Course. The Board is visiting <br />39 adjacent cities in an effort to become good neighbors. <br />40 • Fourth Annual Parking Lot & Sidewalk Maintenance Workshop today at City Hall. <br />41 • Annual meeting this evening with City Manager Morrison, Police Chief Ohl, himself, and <br />42 the mayors of Lauderdale and Falcon Heights. The meeting is to ensure that everything <br />43 is running harmoniously. The mayors have nothing but positive comments about the <br />44 Police Department and Police Chief Ohl. <br />45 <br />3 <br />
