He noted that <br />the energy efficient side of the improvements relates to the City Council goals. <br />Motion by Councilmember Stille, seconded by Councilmember Gray, to approve Resolution 10- <br />073; A Resolution Supporting the St. Anthony -New Brighton School District #282 in their grant <br />Request to Hennepin County Youth Sports Program for Improvements to its Stadium Athletic <br />Complex, Softball Facilities at Central Park, to Improve the Drainage of the Multi -Purpose <br />Fields in Central Park and to Revitalize under -sized space to Create a Regulation Sized Soccer <br />Field at Wilshire Park Elementary Schools, with the following amendment: <br />2nd Whereas: "...to enhance its the stadium athletic softball facilities of Central Park <br />Field 1..." <br />Councilmember Gray commended ISD #282 for the packet of information provided with the <br />grant proposal and noted the importance of the receiving the funding to complete the <br />improvements. <br />Councilmember Stille commented that Hennepin County has been very supportive of the <br />community and that it should be noted where the grant funds are coming from. <br />Dr. Thompson stated that these improvements could not be accomplished without the help of the <br />Commissioners, the County, and the partnership with the City. He thanked the City for its <br />support and partnership with ISD #282. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mayor Faust suggested that a plaque be posted to remember the source of the funds if the grant <br />funding is acquired. <br />B. Northwest Youth and Family Services. Jerry Hromatka, presenting. <br />Mr. Jerry Hromatka, Executive Director of Northwest Youth and Family Services (NYFS), <br />presented an update on the following programs provided by NYFS: 1) mental health counseling; <br />2) community services; 3) day treatment for youth. <br />Mr. Hromatka provided an update on the following additional NYFS information: <br />• Summary of 2009 and 2010 <br />• Contracted and non -contracted services <br />• Summary of quarterly reports; highlights of 2010 <br />• Future plans <br />• Reaching out to the community / business community <br />Mayor Faust thanked Mr. Hromatka for the work of NYFS and commented on the "bang for the <br />dollar" that the City receives in services for the finding support it provides to the organization. <br />C.
