City Council Regular Meeting Minutes December 14, 2010 Page 6 1 * Today was the bid opening for the 2011 Street Project. The bids will be presented at the 2 January 11, 2011 City Council meeting. 3 • Agenda of upcoming City Council meetings. 4 • The Tobacco Ordinance that is currently under a moratorium will likely be presented for 5 first reading in March, 6 • The Ramsey County Administrators Meeting included an update on home foreclosures. 7 St. Anthony is the city with the least amount of foreclosures in Ramsey and Hennepin 8 Counties. 9 10 Councilmember Jenson reported on his attendance at the November 24, 2010 Kiwanis monthly 11 meeting and filling food packs at Feed My Starving Children on December 8, 2010. 12 13 Councilmember Roth reported on his attendance at the following events: 14 . December 13, 2010 Park Commission meeting. ISD #282 Athletic Director Troy Urdahl 15 presented on the projects in Central Park they had hoped to receive grant money for 16 through Hennepin County. The grants were not approved, but there is optimism that they 17 will be approved in the future. 18 • Cable Commission meeting last week. CTV 15 will be moving from its present location 19 to a new location in Roseville. The agreement reached will result in a 25% savings to the 20 city on the rent from the amount budgeted when the process began three years ago. 21 22 Councilmember Stille reported on his attendance at the following events: 23 • November 16, 2010 Planning Commission workshop meeting 24 • November 17, 2010 Metro Region of the Metro Cities meeting. There was discussion on 25 potential housing and the needs of seniors and baby boomers, and the demand for people 26 that want to stay in their own homes. As a city it is important keep vital aging as a goal. 27 • November 18, 2010 Family Services Collaborative Quarterly meeting 28 29 Councilmember Gray reported on his attendance at the December 6, 2010 Sister City Annual 30 Meeting. The dancers that visited St. Anthony this summer gave glowing reviews of their visit 31 to city hall and commented on how clean and well kept the city is. 32 33 Mayor Faust reported on his attendance at the following events: 34 • November 30, 2010 Quarterly Work Session with the ISD 4282 School Board 35 • December 9, 2010 5'1' Annual Winter Parking Lot and Sandlot Maintenance Class at city 36 hall 37 • December 13, 2010 Regional Council of Mayors Meeting with City Manager Morrison, 38 There was discussion on the Brookings Institution Metropolitan Policy Program as a new 39 approach to metro growth and cities taking the lead in selling regions. 40 • Middle Mississippi Watershed Management Organization meeting today. The meeting 41 included a review of the Executive Director's performance. 42 43 VIII. COMMUNITY FORUM. 44 45 Mayor Faust invited residents to come forward at this time and address the Council on items that 46 are not on the regular agenda. M
