Training <br /> The Fire Department completes a variety of training each year to ensure continued compliance with local, <br />state and federal rules and regulations and to ensure staff is in peak condition to perform their jobs. In <br />2013, the theme for the Fire Department was “Physical Fitness”. A department physical ability test was <br />rolled out and will continue on an annual basis with benchmarks for remaining on the department long- <br />term. With new responsibilities and changing roles, key staff have been identified to oversee the training <br />program for the Department. <br />IN SERVICE TRAINING/ACTIVITY <br />There was 22 staff within the Fire Department at year end <br />in 2013. The 22 staff had a total of 1678 training hours <br />documented in 2013, which averaged 69.9 training hours <br />per person.
