MINUTES <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING '~ <br />FEBRUARY 10, 1982 <br />t <br /> <br />A regular meeting of the Falcon Heights City Council was called to order <br />at 7:30 p.m. by Mayor Warkentien. <br />Mayor Warkentien, Councilmembers Larson, Ciernia and Chestovich. Also PRESENT <br />present were Clerk Administrator Barnes and Attorney Swanson. <br />None. Councilmember Eggert arrived at 7:55 p.m. ABSENT <br />The following new business was added to the agenda: (1) Cancellation NEW BUSINESS <br />of Check 414402 in the amount of $500.00, (2) Summons on towing of snow- ADDED TO AGENI <br />bird, and (3) Possible changes in agenda format. <br />Councilmember Chestovich moved, seconded by Councilmember Larson, that CONSENT AGENDE <br />the Consent Agenda be approved as presented. Motion carried unanimously. APPROVED <br />1. Fire Report 44F-00382 <br />2. Rescue Reports 44R-00682 - 44$-01082 <br />3. General Payroll.l/16/82 - 1/31/82 $ 5,144.49 <br />4. Building Inspector's Report, November and December, 1981 <br />Councilmember Larson moved, seconded by Councilmember Chestovich, that MINUTES OF <br />the Minutes of January 27, 1982 be approved as presented. Motion carried 1/27/82 <br />unanimously. APPROVED <br />Councilmember Ciernia reviewed the December meeting with State Fair <br />Officials regarding reimbursement of the City for costs attributed to <br />the Fair and Fair visitors. He gave an update on the pending legislation <br />which would repeal the portion of the statute providing for negotiation <br />with the Fair and which would also detach the Fairgrounds from the cities <br />that embrace its boundaries. Attorney Swanson stated that the detach- <br />ment would be unique as he did not know of any past legislation to detach <br />an area from the municipalities. Clerk Administrator Barnes expressed <br />concern regarding any detachment as the Fairgrounds are in some ways <br />bound to the municipality such as sewer service, voting, and schools. <br />Council concurred that the matter should be reviewed before replying <br />to Representative Hanson's letter drawing attention to the proposed <br />bill and suggested that Councilmember Ciernia and the Clerk Administrator <br />attend the hearing on the bill. <br />Goutlcilmemb~r Eggert arrives. <br />Mayor Warkentien presented for Council's approval <br />Duncan, 1753 Albert to the Recreation Advisory Coy <br />moved, seconded by Councilmember Chestovich,~that <br />approved.- Motion carried unanimously. <br />REVIEW OF <br />STATE FAIR <br />NEGOTIATIONS <br />. ~ COUNCILMEMBER <br />.. COMMITTEI <br />Councilmember Larson commented on the Planning Commission Public Hearing PUBLIC HEARIN <br />on the request for rezoning the Hawkins/Hermes property. She informed ON PUD REQUES" <br />Council that the Hearing has been continued to March 1, 1982 and that HAWKINS/HER*1E <br />the Planning Commission requested that Council schedule their Public PROPERTY <br />Hearing on the rezoning for a date as early in March as possible.
