MINUTES REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING '~ FEBRUARY 10, 1982 t A regular meeting of the Falcon Heights City Council was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Mayor Warkentien. Mayor Warkentien, Councilmembers Larson, Ciernia and Chestovich. Also PRESENT present were Clerk Administrator Barnes and Attorney Swanson. None. Councilmember Eggert arrived at 7:55 p.m. ABSENT The following new business was added to the agenda: (1) Cancellation NEW BUSINESS of Check 414402 in the amount of $500.00, (2) Summons on towing of snow- ADDED TO AGENI bird, and (3) Possible changes in agenda format. Councilmember Chestovich moved, seconded by Councilmember Larson, that CONSENT AGENDE the Consent Agenda be approved as presented. Motion carried unanimously. APPROVED 1. Fire Report 44F-00382 2. Rescue Reports 44R-00682 - 44$-01082 3. General Payroll.l/16/82 - 1/31/82 $ 5,144.49 4. Liquor Payroll 1/16/82 - 1/31/82 $ 3,198.04 5. General Disbursements 1/28/82 - 2/10/82 $11,592.07 6. Liquor Disbursements 1/26/82 - 2/8/82 $24,730.61 7. Planning Commission Annual Report for 1981 8. Building Inspector's Report, November and December, 1981 Councilmember Larson moved, seconded by Councilmember Chestovich, that MINUTES OF the Minutes of January 27, 1982 be approved as presented. Motion carried 1/27/82 unanimously. APPROVED Councilmember Ciernia reviewed the December meeting with State Fair Officials regarding reimbursement of the City for costs attributed to the Fair and Fair visitors. He gave an update on the pending legislation which would repeal the portion of the statute providing for negotiation with the Fair and which would also detach the Fairgrounds from the cities that embrace its boundaries. Attorney Swanson stated that the detach- ment would be unique as he did not know of any past legislation to detach an area from the municipalities. Clerk Administrator Barnes expressed concern regarding any detachment as the Fairgrounds are in some ways bound to the municipality such as sewer service, voting, and schools. Council concurred that the matter should be reviewed before replying to Representative Hanson's letter drawing attention to the proposed bill and suggested that Councilmember Ciernia and the Clerk Administrator attend the hearing on the bill. COMMITTEI Councilmember Larson commented on the Planning Commission Public Hearing PUBLIC HEARIN on the request for rezoning the Hawkins/Hermes property. She informed ON PUD REQUES" Council that the Hearing has been continued to March 1, 1982 and that HAWKINS/HER*1E the Planning Commission requested that Council schedule their Public PROPERTY Hearing on the rezoning for a date as early in March as possible.
