MINUTES <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />MAY 12,.1982 <br />[~ <br />f' <br />A regular meeting of the Falcon Fieights City Council was called to order <br />at 7:30 p.m, by Mayor Warkentien. <br />Mayor Warkentien, Councilmembers Eggert, Larson, Ciernia, and Chestovich. <br />Also present were Clerk Administrator Barnes, Attorney Swanson and Engineer <br />Lemberg. <br />None. <br />Councilmember Eggert moved, seconded by Mayor Warkentien, that the Consent <br />Agenda be approved as presented. Motion carried unani- <br />mously. <br />~~ <br />PRESENT <br />ABSENT <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br />APPROVED <br />MINUTES OF <br />4/28/82 <br />APPROVED <br />Councilmember Larson moved, seconded by Councilmember Ciernia, that the MINUTES OF <br />Minutes of the Special Meeting of May 6, 1982, be approved as presented. 5/6/82 <br />Upon a vote being taken the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor APPROVED <br />Warkentien, Councilmembers Larson. and Ciernia, anal the following voted <br />against the same: None. Councilmembers Eggert and Chestovich abstained. <br />Motion carried. <br />Dr. David French, City Horticulturist, addressed Council commenting on DED TREES <br />the necessity of continuing a program to control Dutch Elm Disease. He DISCUSSED <br />stated that he felt the remaining trees will last longer if the program <br />is continued, that without removal of diseased trees all trees will be <br />lost (which would be more expensive than the. control program) and re- <br />commended a tree inspector make at least 2 surveys of the community's <br />trees between now and July and then on an "on call" basis. Clerk <br />Administrator Barnes also recommended the. program and was of the opinion <br />that the budgeted amount of $35,U00 would be sufficient to cover the <br />costs.
