MINUTES ~ ~ <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />AUGUST 27, 1980 <br /> <br /> <br />A regular meeting of the Falcon Heights City Council was called to order <br />by Acting Mayor Brown at 7:30 p.m. <br />Acting Mayor Brown, Councilmembers Steele, Eggert and Larson. Also present PRESENT <br />were Clerk Administrator Barnes and Engineer Lemberg. <br />Mayor Warkentien. ABSENT <br />Councilmember Larson moved, seconded by Councilmember Eggert that the CONSENT <br />Consent Agenda be approved as presented. Motion carried unanimously. AGENDA <br />APPROVID <br />1. Liquor Store Financial Report, July, 1980 <br />Councilmember Larson moved, seconded by Councilmember Eggert that the <br />Minutes of August 13, 1980 be approved as corrected. Upon a vote being <br />taken the following voted "aye": Acting Mayor Brown, Councilmembers <br />Eggert and Larson, and the following voted "nay": None. Councilmember <br />Steele abstained. Motion carried. <br />Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Salminen, 1740 Holton, were in attendance to present <br />their plan for surfacing and fencing 6 feet of the walkway between Holton <br />and Albert, which has been used as a driveway by Salminens and their <br />neighbor, Paul Baehr, 1746 Holton. Clerk Administrator Barnes informed <br />that the Baehrs had not responded to the request from the City that <br />the driveway be surfaced, and has not commented on the barricade which <br />was placed at the access to the walkway. Since the barricade has been <br />in place Baehrs have been driving over the lawn to reach their garage <br />and the City Attorney drafted a letter to Baehrs 'informing that they <br />must cease driving on the lawn as it is in violation of Ordinance ~~159, <br />which carries a misdemeanor penalty. <br />Mr. Salminen addressed Council informing that he is willing to surface <br />the 6 feet of walkway adjoining his property, but requested that the <br />walkway be vacated before he does any improvements. After a discussion <br />Councilmember Steele moved, seconded by Councilmember Eggert that the <br />matter should be referred to the Planning Commission for their recommend- <br />ation. A. <br />SALMINEN <br />REQUEST THAT <br />WALKWAY BE <br />VACATID RE- <br />FERRED TO <br />PLANNING <br />COMMISSION <br />Acting Mayor Brown called the Public Hearing at 8:00 p.m. to consider PUBLIC <br />the use of Revenue Sharing Funds. Clerk Administrator Barnes informed HEARING - <br />those in attendance that the Federal Government has not as yet determined REVENUE <br />if the funds will be available but if so Falcon Heights should receive SHARING FUNI <br />$26,000.00. The Revenue Sharing Funds have, in the past, been used for <br />
