CITY OF FALCON HEIGHTS 3 <br />REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />MINUTES OF JUNE 25, 1997 <br />Mayor Gehrz convened the meeting at 7:00 p.m. <br />PRESENT <br />Gehrz, Gibson Talbot, Hustad, Jacobs, and Kuettel. Also present were Hoyt, Asleson, and <br />Maurer. <br />COMMUNITY FORUM <br />There was no one wishing to take advantage of the community forum. <br />MINUTES OF MAY 28, 1997 <br />Minutes were approved by unanimous consent. <br />CONSENT AGENDA APPROVED <br />Motion was made by Councilmember Kuettel to approve the following consent agenda. <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />1. Disbursements <br />2. Licenses <br />3. Appointment to the Fire/Rescue Department <br />4. Approval of step increase for Parks/Public Works Superintendent <br />5. Authorization to prepare plans and specifications and request proposals for the 1997 <br /> sealcoating project <br />6. Approval of variance of 3 feet from the required five foot rear yard setback for the <br /> construction of an addition to an existing garage at 1456 W. Idaho Avenue, Chapter <br /> 9-2.01 subd. 1 (c) <br />7. Authorization to apply for a planning grant from the Metropolitan Council <br />8. Authorization to request proposals for a voice mail system for city hall <br />9. Acknowledgement ofthe city administrator's election as an officer in the Association <br /> of Metropolitan Municipalities (AMM) and the League of Minnesota Cities (LMC) <br />POLICY AGENDA <br />APPROVAL OF RESOLUTION AWARDING BID FOR CITY SIGNS TO JAY BROTHERS <br />Motion was made by Councilmember Gibson Talbot to approve Resolution 97-23, awarding <br />the bid for the city signs to Jay Brothers, at a cost of 5305,049.00. Motion passed <br />unanimously. <br />APPROVAL OF CHANGE ORDERS TO THE JAY BROTHERS CONSTRUCTION <br />CONTRACT <br />A number of change orders to the design of the city sign were proposed by Project Designer <br />Michael Schroeder. After discussion, the council decided to accept Schroeder's <br />suggestions, with the exception of changing the sign material from glass to polycarbonate. <br />
