TZIIuT(JTES OF REG?;LAR COUNCIL MEETING <br />FALCOI`3 HEIGHTS, IINNESOTA <br />MAxcH 13, 19 75 <br />• A regular meeting of the Falcon Heights City Council was called to order <br />by Mayor Warkentien at 7:00 p.m. <br />Mayor Ztirarkentien, Councilmen Black, Ecklund, Steele, and Labalestra. Also <br />present were Clerk-Administrator Barnes, Engineer Lemberg, and Attorney <br />Kenefick. <br />Pone. <br />I~a,yor `^jarkentien opended the special informational meeting for the proposed <br />improvement of Arona, givir_~ a brief introduction as to the purpc~;; of the <br />mee~cing, and to get -;,L,o citizens s input for such an improvement, explafzing <br />that State Aid Funds could be utilized as Arona in designated a State Aid <br />Street. Mayor ?~rarkentien then requested Engineer Lemberg to make ~, pre- <br />sentation to the Council and citizens by using plans he had prepared for <br />the meeting, and to explain State Aid Funding. <br />Engineer Lemberg explained the plans he had prepared for the meetirb on <br />arona improvements, which would begin at California :venue south to Hoyt. <br />He recommended that storm sewer and curb and gutter be included if the <br />project was to be ordered. He explained the possibility of widening the <br />streets: l~l~ feet for parking on both sides; ~t0 feet for parking on one <br />side; and 36 feet for no parking on either side. He informed the Council <br />treat trees could be replaced, and a portion of the storm sewer costs could <br />be funded by State Aid Funds. <br />Mayor Warl~antien requested those in attendence to write any questions in <br />regard to the meeting, and to present them to the Council on the cards <br />provided, if they wished to be heard. <br />James Jernberg, 1510 West Iowa, aske.'?, ''?°ihat is the total cost of the pro- <br />ject, and could the Council prescr_i_be a'36 foot wide street?" <br />Engineer Lemberg stated the total cost of tiie project would be approximately <br />X60,000, out if the street were constructed at 36 feet, no parking would <br />be permitted. <br />Edmund J. Wagner, 130 California, stated he was concerned about the storm <br />sewer, as he has three catch basins in his area on Hamline. <br />Engineer Lemberg stated the proposed storm sewer could not affect him, as <br />he '.s out of the particular watershed area being improved on Arona Avenue. <br />David A. Anderson, 1512 Idaho, asked, "Is Iloz a State 1°:~d ~-~i eet, and how <br />will ii; be affected by this project?'' <br />Engineer Lc7n'erg stated Hoyt is a Ccaaty State Aid Street. <br />Bob Kellin, 1513 West Iowa, asked, "Tn'hat is the option if we do not want a <br />I~0 foot wide street?"
