<br />MINUTES OF REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING
<br />FALCON HEIGHTS, MINNESOTA
<br />MAY 8, 1975
<br />A regular meeting of the Falcon Heights City Council was called to order
<br />by Acting Mayor Black at 8:00 p.m.
<br />Mayor Warkentien, who arrived at 8:19 p.m., Councilmen Black, Ecklund, PRESENT
<br />Steele, and Labalestra. Also present were Cl erk-.Administrator Barnes,
<br />Engineer Lemberg, and Attorney Davies.
<br />None. ABSENT
<br />Councilman Labalestra moved, seconded by Councilman Ecklund, to approve MINUTES OF
<br />file minutes of April 2l~, 1975, as corrected. Upon a vote being taken, APRIL 2l~, 1975
<br />the following voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Black, Ecklund,
<br />Steele, and Labalestra, and the following voted "nay": None. Motion
<br />carried.
<br />Councilman Black presented the discussion on the variance for garage GARAGE VARIANCE
<br />construction, submitted by Wayne R. Olson, 1532 Crawford. It was noted OF WAYNE R.
<br />the present garage is three feet from the alley, and two feet from the OLSON - 1532
<br />west lot line. CRAWFORD
<br />Councilman Black moved, seconded by Councilman Steele, to refer the
<br />variance request to the Planning Commission. Upon a vote being taken,
<br />the following voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Black, Ecklund,
<br />Steele, and Labalestra, and the following voted "nay"s None. Motion
<br />carried.
<br />Keiti~s Hofeld, representing the Falcon Heights Businessmen's Association, KEITHE HOFELD
<br />was present to discuss a redesign concept for the Cohen and Rees property,FALCON HEIGHTS
<br />and for Snelling Drive Prom Crawford south to Larpenteur. State Aid Fund BUSINESSMEN+S
<br />negotiations were also discussed. ASSOCIATION
<br />Proposals discussed were the possibilities of an ingress to the Cohen
<br />Shopping Center on the east side of Snelling, and to close off Snelling
<br />Drive north of Larpenteur to the alley to b® utilized as a parking lot.
<br />Councilman Steele moved, seconded by Councilman Labalestra, to have Engineer
<br />Lemberg prepare plans and coert specifications for the proposals submitted
<br />by the Businessmen's Association for the areas north and south of the inter-
<br />section of Larpenteur and Snelling. Upon a vote being taken, the following
<br />voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Black, Ecklund, Steele, and
<br />Labalestra, and the following voted "nay": None. Motion carried.
<br />Councilman Black presented the discussion on the variance request of VARIANiCE REQUEST
<br />Heinrich Loos, 1502 Arona Street, St. Paul, to move a house from Mendota HEINRICH LOOS
<br />Heights to a vacant lot at 1889 Si3olling Avenue in Falcon Heights. HOUSE TO BE MOVED
<br />FROM MENDOTA HGTS
<br />Mr. Loos was present, and noted the dimensions of the lot were 60'by 270',INTO FALCON HGTS
<br />and that the house was 20 feet wide. He mentioned he was planning a
<br />garage for a later date.
<br />Councilman Black moved, seconded by Ma,Tyor Warkentien, to refer the variance
<br />request to the Planning Commission. Upon a vote being taken, the following
<br />voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Black, Ecklund, Steele, and
<br />Labalestra, and the following voted "nay": None. Motion carried.
