MINUTES OF REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br />FALCON HEIGHT, MINNESOTA <br />JUNE 12, 1975 <br />A regular meeting of the Falcon Heights City Couneil was called to order <br />by playor Warkentien at 7:57 p.m. <br />Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen .Black, Ecklund, Steele, and Labalestra. Also PRESENT <br />present were Clerk-Administrator Barnes, Engineer Lemberg, and Attorney <br />Kenefick. <br />None. <br />ABSENT <br /> <br />Councilman Steele moved, seconded by Councilman Labalestra, to approve MINUTES <br />the minutes of May 22, 1975 as corrected. Upon a vote being taken, the MAY 22, 1975 <br />following voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Black, Ecklund, <br />Steele, and Labalestra, and the following voted "nay": None. Motion <br />carried. <br />Engineer Lemberg discussed the Falcon Woods Park progress and completion. WESTLtTND <br />Mr. Westland of Westland Construction Company was present, and answered CONSTRUCTION <br />the Council's questions and comments on the progress of the park. Items COMPANY AND <br />included in the discussion were tennis courts, signs, paths, baseball dia- FALCON WOODS <br />mond condition, backstops, horseshoe courts, and completion of the park. PARK IMPROVEMENT <br />A second baseball diamond for regulation softball was also discussed. <br />Councilman Steele moved that plans be submitted for the construction of BASEBALL <br />a second baseball diamond in the easterly portion of the Falcon Woods DIAMOND FOR <br />Park with a change order from Westland Construction Company, and that the FALCON WOODS <br />original baseball diamond be kept in use. Councilman Labalestra seconded PAF~ <br />the foregoing motion, and upon a vote being taken, the following voted <br />"aye" : Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen 3iack, Ecklund, Steele, and <br />Labalestra, and the following voted "nay": None. Motion carried. <br />1 <br />Mayor Warkentien read the letter from Donald A. Grittner, Chairman of the BICENTENNIAL <br />Bicentennial Committee, requesting $275.00 for the Bicentennial and Park COMMITTEE <br />Dedication. Mayor Warkentien moved, seconded by Councilman Black, to REQUEST FOR <br />authorize $275.00 for the Bicentennial and Park Dedication. Upon a vote FUNDING <br />being taken, the following voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen <br />B1a.ck, Ecklund, Steele, and Labalestra, and the following voted "nay" <br />None. Motion carriad. <br />Mr. Daniel Nordell, 1130 West Iowa, was present to discuss his radio DANIEL NORDELL <br />tower antenna. Councilman Black presented the discussion, and reviewed RADIO TOYER _ <br />the history of the radio tower. Councilman Black noted a variance for 11130 WEST IOWA <br />the radio tower had been denied in November of 1972, but suggested that <br />Mr. Nordell reapply fora conditional use and variance application. Mr. <br />Nordell stated he would do this. No action was taken. <br />Mayor Warkentien moved, seconded by Councilman Labalestra, to authorize SEAL COATING <br />publication dates of 6-24-75 and 7-1-75, and bid opening date of 7-8-75 BID DATES OF <br />for seal coating for the area north of Larpenteur, and east of Snelling. PUBLICATION <br />Upon a vote being taken, the f ollowirig voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, <br />Councilmen Black, Ecklund, Steele, and Labalestra, and the following <br />voted "nay": None. Motion carried. <br />Mayor Warkentien moved, seconded by Councilman Ecklund, to approve a OSCAR JOHNSON <br />$380.00 deposit at Oscar Johnson Arena far ice time to be used by the ARENA ICE TIME <br />Falcon Heights Hockey Association for the 1975 season. Upon a vote DEPOSIT FOR <br />being taken, the following voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen 1975 SEASON <br />
