~o <br />1 <br />1 <br />r', <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br />FALCON HEIGHTS, MINNESOTA <br />JANUARY 22, 1976 <br />A regular Heating of the Falcon Heights City Council was called <br />to order by Mayor Warkentien at 7:00 p.n. <br />Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen t~.ack, Ecklund, Steels, and PRES$NT <br />Labalestra. Also present were Clerk-Administrator Barnes and <br />Attorney Renefick. <br />None . ABSEriT <br />Moved by Councilman Labalestra, seconded by Councilman Ecklund APPROVAL OF <br />to approve the Minutes of the regular meeting of December 29, MINUTES: <br />1975, as corrected. Upon a vote being taken, the following voted DECEt~ER 29, <br />"aye"z Mayor ~i~arkentien, Councilmen Black, Ecklund, Steele, and 1975 <br />Labalestra, and the following voted "nay": None. Motion carried. <br />Moved by Councilman Steele, seconded by Councilman Black to APPROVAL OF <br />approve the Minutes of the regular meeting of January 8, 1976, MINUTES: <br />as corrected. tTpon a vote being taken, the following voted "aye": JANUARY 8, <br />Mayor Warkentien, Couneilnen Stack, Steele, and Labalestra, and 1976 <br />the following abstained: Councilman Ecklund. Motion carried. <br />George Plant, Chairman of the Falcon Heights Planning Commission, <br />was present to discuss the functions of the commission. <br />Mr. Plant said the Plaruzing Coa~rmi.ssion felt that the proposed <br />Businessmen's Plan for the rezoning of Larpenteur Avenue should <br />not be termed "rezoning", but be termed a "concept"~ The Plan- <br />ning Commission also was of the opinion that Falcon Heights did <br />not need more businesses on Larpenteur between Hanline and Cleve- <br />land Avenues at the present tine. <br />Councilman Steele stated he felt the Commission should present <br />note facts for their recommendations to Council so that the Council <br />would be better informed on issues brought before them. <br />Mr. Plant suggested that pertinent details relating to requests <br />that cone before the Commission be submitted to the members before <br />the night of their meetings, in order that their nay bacons Wore <br />familiar with these requests. <br />Councilman Teklund said he felt requests should be investigated <br />thoroughly by the Commission before they were presented to the <br />Council. <br />Attorney Renefick noted that the Clerk Administrator could refer <br />items to the Planning Commission without going to the Council <br />for their review first. <br />DISCUSSIONS <br />FUNCTIONS OF <br />PLANNING <br />COMMISSION <br />
